About Me

I'm a musician. Being that I'm a 21st century musician that means I play everything, write, sing, record, produce, engineer, manage, make coffee, and work a day job. Actually I'm an engineer and producer that still loves to play guitar. ..

My Interests

Music, Cycling, Basketball, Guitars: Playing, History, and Maintenance.

Music:

I loathe anyone who likes everything. To like everything is to like nothing. These people cannot make a value judgement on the strengths or weaknesses of something. I'd rather hear someone say they hate music than hear them say they love everything. I like anything that's good and some things that are bad. There are no rules only exceptions. I like Jazz esp from 1956 to 1962, I hate smooth jazz and the vast majority of fusion (except Bitches Brew). Alt-Country from Gram Parsons to Wilco. I love the blues. Nothing eases pain like a 12 bar blues. Its morphine delivered aurally. I shamelessly love the Seattle Sound from 1992 to 1996. I know its shallow not to love the early stuff, and I don't care.

Books:

Its been a very large year for me in the book department. Got a bunch of Steinbeck I need to get through.

What does "al forno" mean?

So I'm out to dinner last Friday at a slightly hidden little Italian restaurant downtown.  The place was exceptionally beautiful and charming, exceeded only by the company I was lucky enough to k...

The Wimperson

Wow, what a Saturday. To start with it was off to the Emerson to relive the days of my youth and worry that every girl I saw was underage. That's the great thing about bars, we all know we're legal....

My Home Town vs. My 2nd Home

So it all comes down to the Indianapolis Colts vs. the Chicago Bears and while this game means everything to everyone I know, I'm going to state that it means more to me. I lived in Chicago for 4 year...

Magically

Ok, so I've had it.    Read this sentence.  By reading the previous sentence you have just unlocked a terrible curse.  If you ever pass on a chain letter, perpetuate a chain bulle...

Why you need to leave your house and see live music.

I'm standing on a dance floor in Indy's richest suburb, surrounded by high school kids and their parents.  It'd be the prom but there aren't even corsages or sequins.  I'm about to see the b...
