Where to begin? Locally: Pachedu (music from heaven!), Mohammed Alidu and the Bizung family (beautiful, fun, lively music from Ghana), Full Belly (some FUNKY grooves - such fun to dance to), Jubal and the Rude Boys (great voice-great tunes) and The Frikus Band - eclectic, funky, bluesy music by my hubby. Also local musicians Beth Amsel, Chantel Mead, Craig Corona - sweet, sweet music. More universally known: Zap Mama, Jill Scott, Amos Lee, Amadou and Miriam, India Arie, Ali Farka Toure, Cesaria Evora, Prince, Tori Amos, Bjork, Baaba Maal, Joni Mitchell, Sundays, Sweet Honey in the Rock, Marvin Gaye, Gipsy Kings, Culture to name a few. Open to just about anything.
Anything but horror. Recently saw Enchanted - very cute, mostly due to Amy Adams. Into the Wild was good too. Otherwise enjoy comedies, fantasy, documentaries, drama. Not much into the shoot 'em ups.
Heroes, 30 Rock - Tina Fey is FUNNY! Just recently acquired cable with new apartment situation - it's like crack. Must resist!!
OH, so many - Fahrenheit 451 is one of my all-time favorites. Three Cups of Tea, Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, Bless Me Ultima, The Alchemist, Botany of Desire, Ishmael trilogy, Providence, Poisonwood Bible, Desert Solitaire, Eat Pray Love, Life of Pi, Harry Potter series, etc.
