Band Members: The Frikus Band is a four piece world rock group featuring John "Frikus" Welch on vocals and guitar. Kevin Welch on bass guitar, Matt Wasowski on lead guitar and vocals and Jonny Jyemo on the drums and vocals. They infuse their own original music with rhythms from Africa and the Carribean.
Influences: I am blessed to be playing the music I love with so many great musicians:
Zimbabwean guitar music with Zivanai Masango. West African highlife with Mohammed Alidu and the Bizung Family, Southern fried roots reggae with Jubal and the Rude Boys, Rock and ska with Full Belly. Original world music with The Frikus Band.
