I ate my power animal.
-- Ancho chili jam is my condiment of choice with poultry.
I'd like to meet:
William Shakespeare... and Kit Marlowe. (Although maybe I shouldn't use his nickname until we're on more 'familiar' terms, ya think?)
Apparently my son thinks I should meet everyone on his friends list. So, I figured y'all should know I'm a wrinkled old hippie, with hairy armpits that smell like the Le Brea tar pits.
Sound enticing?
Oh... hold on... wait a minute. Hmmmm... His mates are mostly young, studly military dudes... Perhaps I should rethink that.
I could bathe.
Just this once probably wouldn't hurt.
Unless I shrink.

Music:
I say to me
Now here listening
I say to the locusts
That sing and sing to me sitting
Now here on the front porch swing of my eyes...
I hereby amend
Whatever I've ever said
With this sigh

... INTERMISSION...
Land Rush definition: The event that happens at precisely 10 am EST, on Thursday at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, when the gates to the campground open. Pre-fest volunteers watch in awe, tranquilly sipping their morning cocktails, as paying guests and non-pre-fest volunteers race each other into the campgrounds with tarps to stake out their claim on premium campsite space.
(In 2007 I had the pleasure of watching several rather large tents, set up prior to the land rush, develop legs, and move across the campgrounds to their final locations as if being transported by gigantic ants.)
