Introducing one of the most underrated hip hop lyricists of our time, Mr. SOS. A veteran since 1990, his ability to flow and construct soliloquize with the substance of a creative songwriter has earned him such titles as Wordsmith by The Source magazine, and "underground legend" from fans and peers. He has also shared stages with acts such as Cee Lo, Brand Nubian, The Pharcyde, Raekwon, C-Rayz Walz, Royce 5'9, Little Brother, The Ying Yang Twinz, and has even recieved accolades from the father of The Zulu Nation himself, Afrika Bambaataa.
SOS was born in San Francisco California on March 28th, 1979. When he was 6, his family moved him to South Florida and at 11 years old he began writing rap songs for fun, not knowing that he would never be able to stop. By the time he turned 21 he had already gained recognition for winning battles at local and international events such as Pro Am, and later appearing on The Source Soundlab's unsigned hype battle which aired on UPN and is also on The Source's Unsigned Hype DVD.
SOS is most known for his affilliation with the group CunninLynguists, who are also made up of Kno and Deacon The Villain. In 2001, after meeting Deacon during a hip hop show in Florida and then later making a great impression on Kno in 2002 again in Florida, this time during spring break, he was featured on the song "Ain't No Way" on the CunninLynguists' debut album "Will Rap For Food". He became a member of the Lynguists' for the next release "Southernunderground" which contained underground hits such as "Seasons" featuring Masta Ace and RJD2, "Nasty Filthy" featuring Cashmere The Pro and Supastition, and who can forget the timeless SOS song "Rain". He later released his first solo project "SOS For President the mix tape" and recently released the sequel "SOS For President 2: Inauguration". Other appearances include the BEEF DVD (original and Bonus Disk where he battles his way through various local Atlanta emcees in order to win first place), QN5 compilation albums Asterisk 1, 2, and 3, and "Illtown" (1995) motion picture starring Michael Rappaport, Tony Danza, and Isaac Hayes
Now heads anxiously await the release of the highly anticipated solo debut entitled "Dr. Strangelove" scheduled to drop 2008 with production by Kno, Deacon The Villain, Tonedeff, and himself. How does the music sound? The best part is the music speaks for itself... SO TURN THIS SHIT UP!
