going to gigs, seeing my friends, making jewelery and clothes, drawing, having a good time and a laugh, playing what i like to call 'spastic jazz' (however politically incorrect its fitting) on my clarinet!, hanging out&watching films with my sleepy man&cat.
most of them are dead but..... bob marley, frida kahlo, daniel clowes, ralph steadman, tim burton, and its a bit weird but if i could i'd love to meet myself as a kid and as an old woman! that'd be well cool!
check out captain beefheart that group are amazing, a bit weird and trippy but that's how i like my music. anything with ska, reggae, or dub influences. ooo ooo! joanna newson! she got me writing again! cinematic orchestra are a must. love anything folky too, spesh the good old levellers. acoustic ladyland are the nutzzz! ... beginning to spot a theme here...
My favorite films have to be Clockwork Orange, The Ring(japanese version), Nightmare on Elm Street 1-3 (the rest are just annoying).....and many more i can't think of right now Withnail and I is a brilliant film. it's a sort of dark bohemian thing about a thespian who loves his drink and his mate. it reminds me of me and my friend jane in a strange kind of way. check it out. ZOMBIE FILMS! anything classic corny with good old special effects make up. Tekkinkonkreet is an amazing animation. Tatie Danielle is hilarious but it makes me cry! also by the same person is a film Tanguy which is equally hilarious. studio ghibli always gets me though.
I don't have television in my new house. It's quite lovely actually!
The books I've been reccommended recently have been a bit dissappointing if I'm honest... Sorry, but Lemony Snicket is for children!!! Neil Gaiman has written some nice stuff, I kind of aspire to that way of writing. I read Ghost World recently. It was very good and very different from the film but both are intriguing.
Anyone who's had the balls to make it on their own in the world. I know its cheesy but my mum has had so much influence in my life so shes up there with the greats.
