BRIDGEPORT FOLLY & the Clockwork Collective

Celebrating yrs. of Excellence in Live Performance

About Me

Born deep in the depths of the amazon rainforest, the band was culled from the husk of a little-known root called the Bridgevein, sent statestide, and grown from a spore to embody four entirely seperate though incredibly connected entities. Much resembling you and I at this point, the boys went on to build beautiful melodies rounded out by depth and inspired by creativity and energy. Feuled by the often whimsical and always poignant words and vibrant imagery of eloquent and original lyricist, John Knowles Williams, Bridgeport Folly is a gathering of hearts and minds, a true musical celebration. Seeing them, hearing them, nay, experiencing them on stage is an opportunity not to be missed. Bridgeport Folly is surely here to stay, and for that we thank them and wish them well...THE SOUND OF A CREATIVE TEAM HARD AT WORK [Tasty Tune Tidbits for Those Slithering Sly Towards Soul-Extinction] TAYLOR JACOBS: major 7th chords STEAVE NIERATKA: low notes ALF GRACEFFO: high notes NATE LARGENT: "rented a tent, rented a tent, rented a tent, a tent, a tent" JOHN KNOWLES WILLIAMS: letters, symbols and punctuation

Influences: Though our influences are broad, sweeping all manner of conventional as well as unconventional music, a few stand out in particular as having left a lasting and meaningful impression on us. These include Robert Fripp, Desmond Dekker, Philip Glass, Jorge Ben, Phish, Fela Kuti, James Brown, Grateful Dead, The Meters, Jack DeJohnette, Brian Eno, Funkadelic, David Bowie, King Crimson, The Who, Herbie Hancock, Genesis, Devo, Frank Zappa, and Miles Davis. Lyrically speaking, we are influenced by Kurt Vonnegut, Joseph Heller, Neil Young, Tom Marshall, Ian Anderson, Bernie Taupin, Tom Waits, Peter Gabriel and Kilgore Trout. Much like theirs, ours is a timeless story told in rhyme and song.
