About Me

Born to a couple of lowely sheep herders in the Bavarian alps, DJ Blair heard the calling at a very young age. After watching his father watch "The Sound of Music" for the billionth time on their old Plillips Pan-o-Rama, Dj Blair started to hear a groove with in the static he would hear late at night, after his father would pass out from drinking too much fermented sheeps milk. Some of you would call that TECHNO. Fun and games aside, I, DJ Blair, started spinnihg in '99. But the influences! Where do I begin....6th grade, Breaking! Spinning on your head is all good, but the MUSIC.....Herbie Hancock, Run DMC, Africa Bimbataa, Midnight Star and of cource, Kraftwerk! Actually, it starts well before this. 7 years old, Rick Dee's (yeah, the radio jock......) put out a series of records "Disco Duck." I don't know how I had these records, (the primary feeling is...My Sisiter is all Led Zepplin and Rolling Stones{ two great bands, that I borrow from when I can }, who did not get along with my brother, which actually listened to the same music, but would buy me disco just to fuck with Sis.) Blah, blah, blah....Thomas Dolby,Peter Gabriel, the Clash, Depeche Mode, Beastie Boys, New Order, Africa Bimbataa=1989 Acid House Raver. This is about the same time that Steve Masters was doing the Modern Mix on Live 105 in the late 80's. Lots of chemicals, hanging with friends who became DJ's and finally loving Trance and Progressive House (Yeah Oldies, one and the same, I know.....) This is where I finally come in to the picture. I've played Trance at some BIG West Coast parties( toot my own horn, Coolworld, NeuroScience Creations, Divercity....I could keep going, but old age and stuff is catching up) and if your in California in the last six years, you've heard me play, but..alas...I'm just another name on a flier (sorry, I don't play the promoters game), but now, I play what I feel is important, or at least what I like. And I get booked. And I rock the crowd. And I do it for love. If anybody is impressed with this line of bs, send me an email, and I will send you a cd. I'm actually decent. Anybody have a copy of "Maggie's Last Dance" by V.I.M. they want to sell?
