Let me see here..... Well it all started in 1994. I did a couple of radio commercial adds for a radio staion. The General Manager liked the way I sounded and offered me a job. I Did that gig for about 3 years. During this time a DJ came to work for us from Dallas Texas. His Name was Rey Olvera. This Guy was my uncle but really became my mentor. He introduced me to mixing music. Up to this time my musical background was mainly in Tejano music. I started mixing and to be honest with you I was not that good at it. As with everything I got better,but it was a slow process. In 96 I moved to San Antonio to work for the mighty KXTN Tejano 107.5 FM. I did that for a while as well. While in San Antonio I did the club thing as well. Finally I was in a major market. I was now with the big boys. I learned alot here and honed my skills. I was offered a job back in Abilene in late 1999. I along with a Gentlman by the name of Scott Powell converted a oldies formated station into a full time 24 hour a day Tejano station (STAR 98.1 FM). I worked at this for a while and eventualy took over the market and put my former employer out of buisiness in 2000. Around this time I got into a Money Dispute with this Radio station and left radio. Somehow I ended up Doing Collections for Rent to own companies. I was good at it to. During this time Iwas still doing club DJing. It was around this time I met up with a Spinning crew named Nu-wax Productions. DJ lil e and DJ Hank. My cousin Nate was kicking it with these dudes at this time. Along with roadies (Rob, Muscle, Nate,The Hyfe). Never really kicked it much cause I had my own crew. Who would have known that My cousin Nate was gonna end up bring us all to be a BIGG ASS FAMILY. Nate had always rapped but never took it serious till he was in the Army. One of his boys started getting on his ass and telling him you need to to do this rap game man your cold. Nates last name is Ruelas. well this same dude had a hard time saying his name and started calling him Ellis. It stuck and that is how Ellis and the nu-wax story came to be http://www.myspace.com/ellisofnuwax. Nate asked me to do some tracks with lil e. I had a studio and so did lil e. we started working together and over time I became part of Nu-wax. We started producing tracks and recording as much as we could. around 2001 2002 we started working with BJ Davila aka Poetic Thug. During this time we also met up with Lvk and one of thier homeboys that also produced some of thier tracks, EGZ (Dirty Beats INc.)http://www.myspace.com/crookedactivity .This really ended up being a good conection cause to this day we continue the relationship between Nu-wax and EGZ. I along with Lil e( http://www.myspace.com/waxtek)and Egz have produced most of Ellis and artist for nu-wax. I am now Operations Manager for KJTZ Tejano 106.9 Fm. I am happy to say that in 2005 we won the Tejano Magazine "Best Tejano station in Texas" award. I am also proud to say that thanks to our listeners we are the number one most listened to Hispanic station in Abilene. I am now spining clubs. I am Now a Texas Trill DJ's .
