I’m Benji Taylor. I recently finished recording my first solo album called “These Things Between Us.” I’m very excited about its release and hope you are too. I wrote the songs over the past two years with no real goal in mind. It wasn’t until sometime in the summer of ‘07 that I decided to record an LP. I recorded in Huntington, WV with Steve Riley. Steve produced the record and played several instruments on the recordings. Since finishing the album, I have continued to write new songs that will possibly be released sometime later.------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------------My good friend Jenn Ball created the artwork and design for my record and Paul Bennett supplied the photography. And I want to say how nice it was to work with them and how grateful I am to have such talented friends. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------I began playing guitar when I was 19 and started writing songs a few years later. In the beginning, I didn’t write for any other reason than to just record my thoughts. It served as kind of my own therapy…which was great. Now, I try to be more specific with my writing and to tell more of the story that I’m living. I don’t see that these songs necessarily fit within any certain genre. They’re just simple songs, slow and honest.
