We are two friends that enjoy wine. Consumption has little to do with how much we enjoy it. We like learning about regions, years, varietals, and we just started doing "blind taste tests" on years and varietals. The world of wine is vast, and we are still in the baby stages compared to the knowledge and wine that is out there. My name is Samantha, or Spam, or Sam, or Samantha Marie, whatever you'd like to call me. His name is Carlos, or Los, or Ponzo. As for me, my involvement in wine was a slow & conscious one. I used to hate wine. Someone would give me a sip of a Zin & I thought it was the most disgusting thing. It all started with a sample of white zin from Olive Garden for me. I drank Beringer White Zin for about a year & 1/2 before I just couldn't take it anymore. Eventually I moved onto whites & Sutter Home made me throw up. I had my first red, Fetzer Eagle's Peak Merlot in late November 2003 and never looked back. It's been a long & continuous process. I only finally got into Red Zins in Fall 2006, and since cut back on the amount of my alcohol consumption.Carlos will tell us more about himself later ;)
