Still Feel Like Dancin', Norbit??!

About Me

..

Remember when you thought you knew what was going on in the universe?

Updated 8/25/06
We've been back in the house for a couple of weeks now. It's been a difficult valley to move through, but we're moving. I heard a quote from a fisherman on TV (quoting Winston Churchill) that has become my motto for the last nine months. He said, "If you're going through Hell - keep going." It's astounding to report, we are still here and we're still sane and we even feel okay usually. I've lost most of my bitterness though I still rely on some form of avoidance. I was just looking through some paperwork we got from Kaiser on the stages of grief, and I realize I'm not unique in my journey. It says at one point in the Guidelines for Healing Grief, "...As time passes, you may find you are not so mad at God after all."

Woe is the natural end of life, yet we go on having babies.
No, said Nanny... We don't go on having babies, that's quite apparent. We only have babies when we're young enough not to know how grim life turns out. Once we really get the full measure of it--we're slow learners, we women--we dry up in disgust and sensibly halt production.
-Wicked

"It was like swimming against a current that swept you backwards however hard you struggled, and then suddenly deciding to turn round and go with the current instead of opposing it. Nothing had changed except your own attitude; the predestined thing happened in any case."
-1984

Grandma Paints a Nice Picture

"One day he's gonna walk up behind you, as a perfect grown man, and put his hands on your shoulder and lean around and say, 'It's me, Momma, don't you recognize me?' And he'll kiss you on the cheek."
