In the beginning, it was written… We all come into this world blessed with innate gifts, it is our duty to embrace and develop them and to share them with the world. For Trinidad native singer and songwriter Akini Blake, this means connecting with his fans and evoking an emotional response through his music. Growing up in Trinidad provided Akini with influential role models such as his grandmother and the gospel choir he joined at 7 years old. At 11, Akini wrote his first song and allowed other strong influences such as Teddy Riley, Luther Vandrose, and Stevie Wonder to broaden his mind and expand his God given talent. Akini moved to Brooklyn New York at 14 and passionately continued his study of music resulting in him joining the Imani singers at Medger Evers College in Brooklyn NY. His transformation from Gospel to R&B was natural as he quoted, “Gospel is the tune you sing to God to show how much you love Him, R&B is the tune you sing to God’s child to show how much you love them.†Akini knows “Winners make the rules and losers live by them." And he is going to win, Akini is now ready to share his gift with the world........... THE WHOLE WORLD IS GONNA DANCE,CRY, SING AND EVEN MAKE LOVE TO MY MUSIC ..........SEE YOU SOON WORLD"AKINI BLAKE
