About Me

I suck at self promotion, which is probably why I still languish in a purgatory of obscurity. I've produced and directed five documentaries, four short narrative films (one of which screened at the Cannes Film Festival last spring!) and am writing my second feature screenplay (but the first that will ever be produced. I've disavowed the first one because it's abysmal! Absolutely horrid! I wrote it in my early 20s, and it shows.) I plan to shoot it on HD next year. (If you want to be a part of the cast or crew and are located in the New York City area, send me a resume, head shot, etc.)For a day job, I write about the beverage business. My wife and I are avid beer enthusiasts, mostly Belgian and small craft brews. We're always looking for new beers to try, so if you've got any recommendations, send them my way. I plan to take the plunge into home brewing this year. I'll try not to poison anyone.OK, that's all I've got to say. Never said I'd be interesting.

Anna Nicole Kicks

Anna Nicole Smith is dead. I don't buy it though. I think she faked her own death to avoid all the litigation she's facing. She took off for the same secret resort that Ken Lay moved to after he faked...

Revenge of the Top 10

It's been a few years since I've done a Top 10 Films of Whatever Year list because I basically began to think that it was too self-serving. But, since there is nothing more self-serving than Myspace, ...

OSCARS

I've gotten less and less enthusiastic about the Academy Awards as the years have dragged on. I used to have Oscar parties every year, but I discontinued that tradition a couple of years ago, because ...

Hoboken

At a press lunch yesterday I told someone that Hoboken has lost its Bohemian vibe, in favor of the sterile, homogeneous, investment banker/stockbroker/fratboy/tarty chick environment that lacks any ch...

Happy 2006

After much arm-twisting from Mathias, I made a New Year's resolution to get my myspace account moving. I haven't really done much of the whole blog thing because I've had a Web site since 1998 and ha...
