About Me

Gotta love this Myspace toy, eh? [1] MOSTLY HERE FOR THE MUSIC which rotates my 8 monthly & celebrates a lifetime of waiting for such amazing creativity & talent. I happily support & evangelize my few added artists as A) I've nothing to sell, B) The world needs access/exposure to the possible and, C) dude, you rock.[2] My few non-band friends here make me happy & add to my daily life more significantly than you really want to read about here.[3] I adore my wife & am lucky she thinks I'm ok too.[4] I edited my profile with indifference & good beer.

My Interests

My wife / best friend. My parents who I do not spend enough time with. My friends who I REALLY do not spend enough time with. Extraordinary music. Breath Hold Spearfishing (Everyone is so cool until you dive down 60' into the tight, darkening cold and silently run into something much bigger than you.) Amateur Woodworking.Gardening. Most anything that creates a functional or artistic product. People who pursue their passions without regard to criticism or success.

I'd like to meet:

All my existing band friends. All amazingly talented/underappreciaciated artists looking for fans who get it - here I am. Maybe another online drinking buddy, artist, or thought provoking sort.

Music:

Hands down: KAYO DOT/MAUDLIN OF THE WELL - So good that it makes me want to break down and weep knowing that nothing will probably ever be better. Equally high marks to Time of Orchids for near tear inducing amazement -not comfort- amaaaazement. These two plus Friendly Bears/Tim Byrnes, Behold the Arctopus/Colin Marston, and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum make me happy to have lived long enough to find this stuff. Love ALL my added bands - check out my top 8! Add a generous helping of Dream Theater, Fate's Warning, Jethro Tull, anything Patton, Primus, & Steely Dan and I'm pretty well set.

Movies:

Pulp Fiction ("He knew it, she knew it, and goddamn if Marcellas didn't know it too!), Full Metal Jacket ("I admire your honesty. Hell,I like you.."), Event Horizon ("Oh, she went much further than that...) and Castaway - because I probably would have stayed.

Television:

All television is just painful right now.

Books:

Naked lunch. Some cool book by Clive Barker I can't remember the name of. And Bodies of Water, Bodies of Light: trust me on this one.

Heroes:

Not really the hero following type but have many things that I admire about many people.

My Blog

"Well serve no wine until its time"

Anyone old enough to remember that one?  I think it was the tagline for back when Gallo was best known for their fine boxed & jugs 'o wine.  Anyway, I'm adopting it as I've learned how s...

I pushed my woman aside.

She wasn't everything, but she was more than enough. She was beauty and art and she spoke my soul.  She was common in a way though not the typical choice when the hours waned.  I remem...

The Sweet Smell of Karma

Sorry I haven't been around.  I'll be back.  But thought it overdue to share a deep experience: I suck at chess.  And while I don't personally know Karma, I expect him/her/it - (I'm thr...

About friend requests.

Just a quick bit during a busy time.  Very busy.  I mean so busy that I nearly passed up an extended snowboarding weekend in Mammoth just to keep working on work and the house. But to the po...
