A bit of PSSTory!
The 'Original' band split in 1993 after a very short but colourful career during which time they wreaked absolute chaos, lunacy & madness wherever they went!. The band played wild gigs all over the country, the music didn't seem to matter, it was about putting on a show!. The band were particuarly infamous for their impromptu 'street gigs' and blatant self publicity stunts.
Malcolm Mclaren once boasted of 'Cash From Chaos!'..........This was chaos but without the cash!
PSST released 2 vinyl singles independently one of which grabbed the attention of then BBC Radio One DJ Steve Wright who as well as playing the record, christened them 'The best named band in the country!'
The 1st PSST single was absolutley 'slated' by Steven Wells at the 'NME' who in the reveiw advised them to 'Pack It In' as they were nothing but a bedroom band but without the saving airs and graces!.
Well PSST did pack it in for a while after various bust ups within and outside the group. (See Full History, Biography & Discography). Many other bands spawned from the debris notably Sons Of Selina & GMX Stuns who went on releasing more venom & vinyl!
The 'new' PSST was resurrected in 2001 with the original songwriting nucleus of Founder Member Paul Hammond & Punk Guitar Upstart The Dean 'Rudeboy' Roberts.
In 2001 PSST crashed back on to the Radio One airwaves with a newly recorded version of 'Liar'. Now with all the home recording technology available to them PSST were able to revamp & record old and new material. Also in 2001 they released their 1st ever Cd album 'Just Pigeons And Shit'. In 2003 PSST released a 2nd album 'UA0571'. The band also scored National & International TV and Press coverage with their 2002 Football World Cup Anthem 'Golden Balls'. PSST also released a song for the 2006 World Cup which was far better than the one chosen by the FA! A video was also recorded at Rhyl FC featuring all the local kids....GREAT FUN!
Having embraced musical technology and using the power of the internet PSST has not only survived but has also mutated into something far bigger .........This is PSST NOW......In Your Face.............In Your Room, ........On Your PC & Ipod.........Relive The Past.........Enjoy The Present!
Also check out the regular 'Crudcast' Radio Show'......Not for the fainthearted!
