The Road to Salvation-
God being first and foremost in my life, I have been spinning live and mixing down the dance vibes since 95'! Evoking a emotional audience response with a balanced glitchy, electro, proggy, tech house sound selection coupled with unique mixing that electrifies the listener. You may also have known me as Sotero Errera, Doc Holiday or Defiance.??In the last 13 years I played clubs and events nationally and world wide (Denmark, LA, Miami, New York, Colorado, Las Vegas, San Francisco) including career highlight performances such as playing for pop singer Pink's summer birthday bash, playing alongside Jay Tripwire, Q-burns, Lance Desardi, Jeno, Keoki, Rabbit in the Moon, Lee Burridge, Colette, Mark Farina, Solar, Jason Blakemore, Tony Humphries, King Britt, Greyboy and Beat Junkies. Other career highlights include DJing on MTV, World Music Conference, Hard Rock Casino Snowboard Rail Jam, Fox Sports Television, ESPN2, Triple Crown of Snowboarding on NBC Televisions, Chevy Snowboard Grand Prix, NBC Television Gravity Games, Tha Sessions Crump dancing contest and the JAYO foundation. I can find the right balance to always fit the mood of any event from fashion shows to sporting events. Last New Years Eve I played electronic music for our church while pastors prayed the New Year in! For special occasions I will play old school hip hop, acid jazz, reggae and other forms of electronic dance music. Much of my musical influences come from my mother, rock, punk rock, new wave, hip hop and producing snowboard & motocross films for 10 years. "Cutting film resembles matching a beat". Coming to Los Angeles from Miami and Colorado, I have made a decent reputation in LA and San Francisco by spinning guest spots and residencies. I've been working on putting out tracks on future house label WaxOnWaxOff Recordings/WoWo. Formally part of Colorado's Milehighhouse, I am now with FRIENDofaFRIEND and all the while maintaining my surf companies Ding Bag & www.dropinrideshop.com. Believe it or not, I still find the time to participate in the action sports I love so much! Motocross, skating, snowboarding and surfing. I am also involved with Chrisitian ministry at my church(sanctuaryhb.com) where I am a deacon, am involved with Prison Ministries, Surf ministry and anything God calls me to do. I know only play a few select live gigs with a message of the "Good News" in my mixes.
MY SALVATION-
DJ'ing has been a metaphor in my life because I end up spinning out of control! I thought all along that I could go through life on my own and by my own rules "We are not saying that we can do this work ourselves. It is God who makes us able to do all that we do." 2 Cor. 3:5. Not until I got slapped in the face several times, did I realize I was doing it all wrong! My hardened heart was softened when I let God in and only than! How many times did I have to fall before I realized this? Most of my life unfortunately until 2005 when God led me and my wife to the Sanctuary Church. That is where I humbled myself before Jesus and completely surrendered my life to God. That meant and still means anything and everything that keeps me distant from Him. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"(1John1:9) Without God in my life, I was lost and seeking fulfillment in all the wrong places. Bars, girls, drugs, fame, etc.."for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life"(Rom.6:23). I realized that dj'ing, the film industry, my old friends, some of them famous, were not filling that void in my heart! All of it only led me down a false path of hope that are the ways of the world and the flesh. I wasn't a product of my environment, I chose that environment! Now that I look back, God was calling me all along and I finally found Him! "Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come into him"(Rev. 3:20) That voice in my head or gut feeling was God! Whether I was doing something right or wrong He was there the whole time. Realizing that, I fully excepted Him into my heart through Jesus Christ receiving the gift of eternal life!(Eph2:8-9). I see everything different now. "If anyone belongs to Christ, he his a new creation. The old things have gone; everything is made new!"(2Cor.5:17) I can't imagine life without Him and without being obedient to his word. Because of my obedience in serving Him I found one of my purposes in my life. Helping the lost youth except Jesus into their hearts. Visiting juvenile and prison facilities is now a priority in my life. God is also blessing me and the people in my life in so many ways through my salvation and theirs. It's truly unbelievable what God can do for us. "For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee"'(Hebrews 13:5) This is only the beginning. Miracles do happen! I give it all to God now and for his purpose. To be a soul winner helping the lost through ministry, sport and music for salvation, sanctification and peace!
