THE INTERVIEW WITH GOD
I dreamed I had an interview with God.
“So you would like to interview me?” God asked.
“If you have the time” I said.
God smiled. “My time is eternity.” “What questions do you have in mind for me?”
“What surprises you most about humankind?”
God answered... “That they get bored with childhood, they rush to grow up, and then long to be children again.”
“That they lose their health to make money... and then lose their money to restore their health.”
“That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future.”
"That they live as if they will never die, and die as though they had never lived.”
God’s hand took mine and we were silent for a while.
And then I asked... “As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons you want your children to learn?”
“To learn they cannot make anyone love them. All they can do is let themselves be loved.”
“To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.”
“To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.”
“To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love, and it can take many years to heal them.”
“To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.”
“To learn that there are people who love them dearly, but simply have not yet learned how to express or show their feelings.”
“To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently.”
“To learn that it is not enough that they forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves.”
"Thank you for your time," I said humbly.
"Is there anything else you would like your children to know?"
God smiled and said, “Just know that I am here... always.”
Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one. So that's when our souls finally touch the right one, we'll know how to be thankful for that gift. When one door closes, another one opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see which is the one that has BEEN opened for us, or the one that has been open all the time. The best kind of friend, is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had. It's true that we don't know what we've got untill we lose it but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives. Giving someone all your love is NEVER an assurance that they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return, just wait for it to grow in their heart, but if it doesn't, be contest it grow it to yours. It only takes a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, BUT IT TAKES A LIFETIME TO FORGET SOMEONE.
Find the one that makes your heart smile. There are moments in life when you miss someone so much, and reminese the times you've shared. Be happy with the moments you had and better yourself for the reason that made you move on. Don't be misdirected by a bad first impression.."never judge a book by its cover" its the tatered pages and spell binding story that makes them so compelling. My only advice to the hopeless romantic like myself who still lives in the tower waiting for his/her prince.. don't wait to long..before you know it, life happens without you.. LIVE for all the tears and all the kisses..so that when you're old your smiling because you lived a full life..when your not looking, the best things come..for they are unexpected. The best things in life are the ones you don't often plan for. "Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be," because you have only one life, one moment to sieze the day, one chance to live on the edge..and countless memories to share with everyone and a few to keep to yourself for those rainy days live not to regret, You don't have to be rich, or the homecoming queen to be happy, to be truly happy is to be happy with yourself and the choices you make..its who you are that you have to live with no one else..looks and money are materialistic, but love and happiness keeps us young for eternity..because when you die..the memory of you lives on in others LOVE BEGINS WITH A SMILE, GROWS WITH A KISS AND ENDS WITH A TEAR.
The brightest future will always be based on a FORGOTTEN PAST. You can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches when you were born, you were crying and everybody else around you was smiling, live your life so that when you die, you're the one who's smiling and and everyone around you is crying." I take each day as it's own and never look to tomarrow to be my savior but deal with today and learn from yesterday I love my life my family and friends...
