After years of making every show a party, even if the crowd wasn't partying along (ha), Dream By Day is over. I think I am speaking for everyone when I say we had a lot of fun and are all still friends.

Russian Nuclear Conspiracies? Utopian Fantasies? Winged Assassins? No, this is not a strange best-selling novel (although it should be)--this is the rock band Dream by Day. On a mission to take listeners on a reverent and insightful adventure, Dream by Day matches lyrical creativity with musical talent to create an unforgettable artistic experience. Whether it is pop-driven songs about young romantics, or the experimental dream-rock and story-like appeal, this 5-piece rock group is bringing something noteworthy and memorable to the table.
Musically, Dream by Day rests on the foundation of eclecticism. They hold their footing in a diverse history of Rock & Roll music, while drawing influence from today's indie and pop scenes. Describing their style generally happens retrospectively, because it is constantly progressing. One could say that Dream by Day is an indie / electro-driven rock band, creating a sound that is sometimes upbeat synth-pop, sometimes melodic dream-rock, and oftentimes a rocking mix of those and other, more aggressive styles. But this description does not do their sound any justice.
The music is more like a push and pull between good and evil, dreams and days-a polarized expressionist battle. On one end, there are aggressive guitar riffs, punchy bass lines, fierce drum beats, and angered screams, representing the antagonist. On the other end, soft synthesizers, smooth vocal harmonies, and technical melodic breakdowns that complement the aggression and take the listener on a euphoric escape.
Lyrically, Dream by Day draws influences from all areas of society and intellect. You'll often find them singing about words and ideas from such subjects as: transcendentalism, existentialism, love, bliss, life, death, history, politics, philosophy, religion, dreams, space, time, and the toils of living in an individualistic society. But it never stops there. Dream by Day is always finding innovative and groundbreaking topics to manifest in their always progressing musical style.
