Zee Zee Zer Zoo Zom!

I am here for Friends

About Me

Why hello! This is the MySpace face of a kid named Adam.
You should probably check out my band profile . Page Fortysix . Experimental electronic shit.
Teh sadness! (The Neverending Story)
Artax dies in the Swamps of Sadness Oh man. I love you, Artax! [cries]
.. .. Considerate Creator
While you're at it, check out this video.
http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=2441 It's called Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006. Sit through it and you'll find yourself strangely satisfied.
My name is Adam. I'm amazing. Or so I keep telling myself.
I'm a musician, a creator of music, and an undiscriminating connoisseur of the same. I am the sort of kid the intelligentsia elite choose to despise, because I don't care how well you explain your hand-fed theories and sciences... everything I need to know about life I figure out on my own. I don't do math if I can help it. I had two separate mental breakdowns in high school because of math. It is an extraordinarily deep and fascinating discipline, but it's fascinating to other people, it's only frustrating to me.
Enough about math, let's change the subject. (I really don't think about math that much anyway.) You ever notice there really are things you find yourself thinking about that you just cannot explain? There most definitely are. And my head is completely full of them. That's why I don't talk as much as you do. The psychologists call it "introverted".
Everything else you need to know about me:
I gave up being serious a long, long time ago ; p
I am habitually compelled to drink lotsa coffee and stay up late!
"Lotsa" is totally a word, just like "Ima" and "sammiches".
I can be incontrovertibly vain in the comfort of my own home or your bathroom. Self-conscious, actually; but never in public.
I am and always will be a Christian. Richard Dawkins is my hero.
I am fond of all the stuff they used to call twee. The adorable grooming rabbit video on the You-Tube Inter-Nets and the book "I Like You" by Sandol Stoddard Warburg are some examples.
I love video-games and people who love them even more than I do are my heroes.
I have a lot of heroes. I grew up a lonely little kid.
I'll laugh at a lot of stuff but some things just make me sad.
For example:
Atreyu's horse Artax dying in the Swamps of Sadness
Peppy Hare kamikazi-ing the barrier in Mission 9 of Star Fox Assault
Cats being dead or sad
Other small animals being dead or sad
Anybody being sad (who doesn't deserve it)
Politics, wars, and people who kill fireflies and other beetly insects
People who don't dance
I like almost everyone I meet: if you've got any redeeming qualities at all you'll always have a place in my heart. If you give me enough bollocks, however, I will be much less likely to be around later on.
If I'm being a dick, please kick me in the ass. I'm not trying to be, I've just temporarily got my chin up my butt. Clearly I'd rather not be up my ass. Neither would you. So we're agreed then.
If you're my friend
(friend: a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard; i.e. comrade, chum, crony, etc.),
I already love you from the bottom of my heart. You should know that by now. There are some people in my life I will do anything I can for. Closer than pretzels, we are.
I love stuffed animals if they're small and cute enough.
I'm a hopeless romantic. Who knew?
I'm also a man of strong opinions and dangerous, subversively revolutionary thoughts. Don't be fooled.
Hobbies:
Decorating (when I'm not doing something more interesting)
Photography (mostly of things I really like, like birds and rock bands)
Playing as much music as possible!
Video games
Making derisive comments about the advertisements during Dave Letterman and Craig Ferguson
Driving places I've never been to before
Walking places I have been to before (mostly)
Drawing (occasionally)
Writing (also occasionally)
Going to shows (quite often)
Finding all the unsigned or little-known bands I can find that catch my interest and then telling you about them
The Inter-Nets :(
Movies :D
Books rule!
Webcomics (much better than the rest of the Inter-Nets)
Proclaiming things across my chest for attention
Having intelligent discussions with people, as long as it's not about math
Page Fortysix
look at the Emo Explosion (http://www.../pagefortysix/explosion.html) !
Here's something to read through if you're feeling really bored...

My Interests

I'm live humans!
YAAAAY!!! :D
hmmmm... I like thinking and singing and explaining things to myself in an Irish accent. (It puts what I'm saying in perspective; it's like someone else is saying it.) I like movies, especially high-class anime and low-key indie; I like teh inter nets, I like music to an extreme (it's my true passion), I love being in and around the unspoiled natural world, especially trees. Trees and hills. Trees and hills and sky. I like books and I like writing pieces of them now and then. I like imaginative things as long as they stay awesome (examples are too multifarious and diverse to mention). I also like eating. And most of all I love music. Oh, and I like making stuff, too. And God.

Ah, the terror of my early childhood.

I'd like to meet:

Everybody! for real.
Specificity? You want it? Here goes*...

*This changes pretty often. Let's just say everybody and be done with it!

Kittens make me happy.
....

You Are 62% Evil
You are very evil. And you're too evil to care.
Those who love you probably also fear you. A lot. How Evil Are You?

Music:

Pretty much everything except for vomit-pop (like Nickelback, Hinder, and overcompensating gangsta rap) and bad country and western stuff.

Danny Elfman, Lalo Schifrin, Michael Andrews, Shirley Walker, Basil Poledouris, Clint Mansell, Kenji Kawai, Joe Hisaishi, John Williams, Klaus Badelt, Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, Jerry Goldsmith, Bruce Broughton, John Powell. If you don't know who they are, please, look them up (hint— they're all badass film composers). Also Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman, who are responsible for the Winnie-the-Pooh theme.

This is the music I like to listen to. It's kinda incomplete.

Unsigned and/or little-known bands that deserve be taken notice of:

616 Abortions
A devastating gothmetal/industrial hardcore mosh rock band with fresh lyrics and a uniquely chilling sound. www.616abortions.net.

Impossible Recording Machine
Glorious melodic and offbeat experimental duo turning out a mix of extraordinary drum and bass, alternative pop and moody contemplations with a sound that's not quite Steely Dan, almost Aphex Twin, a little bit of Man or Astro-Man, and the best of all of the above. www.impossiblerecordingmachine.com.

Call Me Lightning
This is a band with a future of epic proportions. I'm not just saying that. Hailing from my hometown of Milwaukee, they deliver impossibly visceral, energetic, and spot-on hooks, riffs, and lyrics, song after song. Their second album, Soft Skeletons, is the best I ever heard out of this town. This is the new punk. It makes you want to dance. www.myspace.com/callmelightning www.frenchkissrecords.com

Television:

I watch Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, Sci-Fi, Spike, and other shit too.
Heroes is win. I need to catch up on it though.

Adult Swim is my friend for being pretty much the only source for televised anime around here. Except for MTV2 sometimes. Which I don't get.
Kids in the Hall also deserves mention, even though I sadly haven't seen it in years.
Shin-Chan is FUCKING AWESOME!!!!! This show is epic. Best animated comedy i've seen in a really long time.
Ninja Nonsense is another funny one.

And of course Bleach... Good stuff.

I need to start watching Eureka 7.

Books:

BOOKS are underrated. I read all the time; usually it's fantasy or sci fi, but I'll read pretty much anything. British contemporary fiction, by the way, is the shite.
Good-Bye, Chunky Rice (Craig Thompson) is the best book ever!!!
Neil Gaiman's excellent Sandman series from DC/Vertigo is not only a timeless classic of remarkable and exemplary execution, it is also a really good read. And it's a fairly extended work, too, so it's quite easy to become delightfully (or deleriously) lost in Mr Gaiman's brilliant tragic tale.
Good Omens by Terry Pratchet and Neal Gaiman, one of the most satisfyingly funny and easily revisited comedies you'll ever read. Check it out.
My little manga plug: read Berserk, Anne Freaks, and Deathnote. Get.
I'm also quite the Akamatsu fan... see Love Hina! or Negima!.
WRITERS Neil Gaiman, P.G. Wodehouse, Douglas Adams, Christopher Buckley, Peter David, Timothy Zahn, Shirow Masamune, Tite Kubo, Alan Dean Foster, Steve Cash, Charles de Lint, Jacqueline Carey, Frank Herbert, Ursula LeGuin, Audrey Niffenegger, Michael Chabon, Kazuo Ichiguro, Haruki Murakami, Jane Austin, Julian Barnes, Donald Mille, Augusten Burroughs, J.R.R. Tolkein, Stephen King, Michael Crichton, Glen Duncan, Stephen Chbosky, Ken Akamatsu, Michael Chabon, A. A. Milne, A. N. Wilson, William Gibson, Neal Stephenson, Alexander Besher, Terry Bisson, Carl Sagan. MANY, MANY
MAGAZINES There are no magazines haha
the three that i do read are Wired, Radar, and GameInformer, of course.
