CARAMELO PESADO es el origen de varias otras formaciones que han llegado a trascender con diferentes niveles de éxito como SEMEFO, LOCH NESS, HUMUS, FROLIC FROTH y GARROBOS.::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: CARAMELO PESADO was the underground's most critically acclaimed, and at the same time the most ignored band of the 1980's in Mexico City. Born explicitly to play 'macicez', they never compromised the ideal of being the heaviest band ever, and though thrash, speed and black metal were thriving all around, CARAMELO PESADO never saw themselves as part of a metal movement, early on. You could consider them purists in trying to maintain that particular musical vein then long forgotten by the early 1980's, (though it had been in the so-called underground since its early days). The band was active from 1982 to 1986, with a memorable comeback 'farewell concert' in 1989, which also marked the beginning of SEMEFO, and their eventual switch/update to modern brutal metal genres. Initially a band of covers, they played CROW, CACTUS, BLUE CHEER, MAY BLITZ and GRAND FUNK RAILROAD in the early days. Soon they moved to JIMI HENDRIX, BUDGIE, CREAM and much BLACK SABBATH. In the late stages they were doing GURU GURU, TEAR GAS, NOVEMBER and MASTER'S APPRENTICES. During all those years improvisations were an integral part of the repertoire(which is mostly the material of what the album 'Kings Of Noise' is made of). There were never original compositions, except for one or two connecting riffs. Tapings were made all throughout the band's history, but always on cheap tape recorders, particularly on standard cassettes. They are from rehearsals as well as from some live concerts. It is a pity that no recording was ever made on professional equipment, though curiously some tracks are stereo cassette deck renditions. After listening to recent official releases of old live recordings by Blue Cheer and Cream, where the sound quality is not so good, CARAMELO PESADO album found a way out. It may sound even worse than those albums by the legendary bands, but all the brutal noise is nevertheless captured in those shattered tapes.
