the DOUG MACDONALD band

Doug MacDonald is a native of Braintree, Massachusetts and the former frontman/songwriter of longtime Boston band Tidal Wave.
In 2005 he began work on his debut solo effort Kick The Birthday Boy. Released in late spring of 2006 the emotionally honest and at times wrenching album showcases MacDonald’s singing and songwriting talents in a wide variety of styles. From the baroque pop of "A Million Miles" to the dark twang of "O’Connor Brothers" and the churning angst of "All Kinds of People" it establishes one thing quite clearly: Doug MacDonald is the real deal.
In March 2006 Doug debuted The Doug MacDonald Band at O’Brien’s in Boston MA. A year of shows and recording, and some personnel changes, followed. April 2007 saw the release of the Tom Hamilton-produced Somerville Summer..
In October of 2007 the band returned to the studio with Tom Hamilton recording an EP for winter release. It will be available on both CD and iTunes.
