Starrlett: Geeky Artist Librarian Extraordinaire

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm Starr, aka Jenni, aka Pink Seven , aka that-short-chick-with-the-red-hair.My husband Alex and I own a great house on one acre where we are incessantly on one of the following: 1) Home Improvement Kick or 2) Movie Watching Kick. (As of 9/11/2005, it's ..2.) We have no kids (yet) no pets (ever) and three Mustangs (well, one's in pieces--the '69 fastback and the '98 Cobra are the beauties). You gotta have your priorities straight, right? Profession: techie librarian, muralist. Past Study: Library Science, Art History, Studio Art, English Lit. Hope to be When I Grow Up: not grown up. (Okay, okay, art reference librarian at a university. And a novelist.) To see the work of my hands--er, paintbrushes--check out Snazzy Decor. And my real blog is Starrlett's Stuff.

My Interests

Librarianship, Art (painting, ceramics, etc.), Literature, Movies, Geek Stuff -- And, apparently, school, since I've spent a decade in college. I'll be done in May. For good. No, really. *** And I am addicted to ThinkGeek and Hot Topic shirts. It's an obsession which my husband not only indulges, but encourages--dangerous thing, that. *** And Batman. I love Batman.

I'd like to meet:

Well, since CS Lewis, Tolkien, and Walt Disney are all dead, and I've met Madeliene L'Engle, that really only leaves me with Robin McKinley, Ursula Vernon , and Nancy Pearl .

And Elvis. (He's alive, right?)

Music:

89.7 Power FM rocks. I say no more.

Movies:

Some Faves: Star Wars (Pro-Ewok), Princess Bride, Lord of the Rings (Jackson), Royal Tennenbuams, Amelie, Chocolate, MOVIES IN GENERAL! Yeah, my husband Alex and I = movie geeks extraordinaire.

(Actually, to see this topic, television, and books filled out more fully, check out Alex's profile--it's the upgraded version of mine.)

Television:

Primarily Sci-Fi: Star Trek (TNG, DS9, Voyager), Stargate SG1, Battlestar Galactica, Farscape, FIREFLY!

Also currently addicted to: Lost, The Muppet Show, Batman Animated Series, Samurai Jack, and Smallville.

Books:

Yes; all kinds! My top faves = C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, Robin McKinley, Madeleine L'Engle. *** Um, you can't say enough about books. Books = life. Best bookstore ever: Recycle Books in Denton, TX. Best profession for bibliophile ever: librarian. 'Nuff said.

Heroes:

Um... Batman?
