Five hundred miles off the coast of Southern California a volcanic eruption with an epicenter underneath the ocean floor caused a fast travelling subsonic sound wave that penetrated the barriers of the Los Angeles County area. It vibrated the E string on an electric bass in Culver City and caused feedback in a guitar amp in Chino. South Central felt it too, and a drumstick rolled off a shelf and hit a cymbal. The waves, inaudible to normal human ears, caused a black laborador in Long Beach to howl, interrupting his owner's shower sonata. Were these separate cacophonies merely chance, or a symphony brought about by fate? The hypothesis is intangible. The coincidence improbable. But the conclusion is real, and the result is Wrapt in Plastic.
