The concept of the Footsoldiers was birthed in the revelation that the next generation of Hip-Hop is currently teaching your sons’ 9th grade social studies class, even processing your home loan. It is very much a possibility that the next “great” figure in our culture is sitting next to you waiting to pick up their son from daycare. They are working men. Many with families. They are carpenters. They are engineers. They are hustlers. But after work on their daily grinds they transform into the ruling Samurais of their respective circles. For now their influence may only be over a city or a region but that’s soon to change. Make no mistake destiny is being fulfilled. Troops have been rallied and the world will now be introduced to this massive force. The first of many recruites to join forces are as follows:
A loan officer who’s been on his own since 16. He’s self taught from running the streets to slangin’ real estate. As for rhyme skills? Just mention his name in SoCal and see what happens.
He is a Footsoldier…He is TRIUNE
Next a graffiti artist and son of a Black Panther. Currently a high school teacher in one of the poorest cities in California. He works in the trenches giving hope to the hopeless.
He is a Footsoldier…He is PROPAGANDA
By age 16 he was traveling the country slangin’ tapes out of his MPV as an original member of the LA based Tunnel Rats. He’s LPG’s protégé who’s special training include schooling @ The Goodlife (‘91-‘94) and Project Blowed (‘94-‘98). Today he is widely respected not only for his skills on the mic but for his ability to engineer the lowest budget recording and make it sound like a million dollar project.
He is a Footsoldier…He is RAPHI a.k.a. BIG SHAME
Then we have the Jersey born soldier. He’s a street fighter with a vast knowledge of weapons. One of 19 children, trained by his father in hand to hand combat. A carpenter by day. Raising three kids of his own in Athens GA.
He is a Footsoldier…He is ISHUES
He’s the street hustler. There’s a little bit of him in all of us and if not there should be. He does what it takes to survive and to provide for his family period. All the while pursuing the dream of every true artist which is to be heard and to be felt.
He is a Footsoldier…He is RANDOM
Not to mention other allies and soldiers from all over the country who were recruited to become a part of this movement. All from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds with one thing in common... an all purpose, burning desire to be the best. The first of many to come. They are too big to be confined into what others would label a just a “Group”. They are the personification of strength, passion and dedication. They represent a heart and a willingness to work until the a job is complete. There are Footsoldiers in every city of every country in this world. Students, social workers, community activists, graphic designers, hustlers and preachers. All with the gift to articulate the struggle and success of life.
In their debut release of “Live This” you will experience Hip-Hop in it’s purest form with honesty, frustration, creativity, and straight up raw emotion!!! But don’t get it twisted as it has been so eloquently stated by the mastermind behind the Footsoldiers Dax Reynosa “Don’t feel it – LIVE it”
