So, this is my... MySpace page, and how weird is that to negociate? My my..., regardless this is it and I am me, Josh. I am married to an emotionally brilliant and good hearted woman, Sandy, and have one amazingly intelligent and super conscious son, Bonny Boy, with a baby girl on the way! I am an artist by trade, working in most any medium that falls somewhere in the gaps from acrylic portrait painting, glass etching and mosaic tile to electro-acoustic audio compositions, abstract paper collage and rustic furniture . I enjoy the aspect of manifesting other people's subjective ideas in areas they can not more than i do any other egoic expression or abstraction of my own. I am somewhat sabbatic about the audio projects I and others have at the moment. Although some things will go on from time to time, the website is closed for a little "vamping" and so i can take a break!
Yeah, music is a big deal in my life. I enjoy worldwide folk and rural music quite a bit and of course anything derivative from there. As well as fresh and novel forms and sounds. My friends and A-alikes get a lot of listenin' attention and I'm a P2P mainliner so I try to at least listen to whatever's buzzin', but I have no clue about anything popular on the radio or music television channels.
I enjoy the sudy of General Semantics/E-Prime, Sanskrit, Advaita Vedanta, Shaiva Tantra, Vodoun and various other forms of mysticism and Transpersonal Psychology as well as Zionism(unaffiliated and adversly, of course). Basically anything i can use in help with dissolving notions and boundries to the "grand" idea of SELF... or something like that. I enjoy researching, studying and experimenting with enthoegens and ethnobotanicals with a new and slight curiousity and attention to holistic herabls and homeopathic remedies(having children definitely shifts the focus). I like simplicity in living and staying as close to nature and my ecology. I try to avoid killing life as much as possible and abstain from animal flesh eating and using animal products, but with no moral hovering or condescension... I just think it's unnecessary to do so for my temporal egoic satisfaction and enjoyment .
I live pretty much smack dab in the middle of Florida and have done so all my life. It's an agricultural and retirement community mainly, so secure nostalgia and cyclical experiences are extremely normal and folk are definitely scared of certain freedoms, singularity and honesty around here. I am currently working on opening a studio/gallery of alternative culture, art, expression and communication for local young folk to showcase and give faculty to "alternative" expression and lifestyles. I already organize and run international production vehicles where I specialize in collective exhibitions, shows, concerts and projects, audio and visual. I work with paper to create hand collaged images and have done a few runs of handmade Digipaks for various musicians and artists. I also paint portraits and whatnot for folk in acrylics. As Jones i produce and record ambient noise textured compositions and soundscapes mostly suited to eerie film scoring, Bhairava/Kali invocations, seances and intense meditative practices. I do DJ a bit privately and have a small series of mixes available. I produce multi-genred international audio compilations and various multimedia projects for Revolve Productions and organize a web-based label for experimental soundscapes and novel communications called The Akashic Records. Recently I have taken a break from work to focus on my new baby boy and my new house but if you're interested in gettin your sounds or artwork out into the world, just holler at me.
