Born Emanuel Jose Vega Ortiz, better known as "Jay Vega" on January 1st 1979, in Rio Piedrs and raised in Carolina, P.R. Jay Vega grew up in an artistic enviorment that developed in him an interest in becoming a singer and a songwriter. Coming from a family dedicated to music and arts, Jay followed followed his father's "Jose Vega Santana-El Payaso REMI", his mother, "Lucy Ortiz Melendez"-Former Public Relations/Platinum Artist Salsa singer" and his grandmother's "Agustina "Gooogie" Santana-singer and actress" footsteps in the arts, music, singing, composing and producing. Jay sister "Surey Vega(currently working on Proyecto Vega's new proyect" also sings and work on different productions as a back up singer. After finishing school Jay started working with his father as a production assistant in his TV show, live presentations, live presentations and concerts all around P.R. and U.S..In 2001 Jay moved to Jacksonville Fl where he started to write lirycsand work on what going to be his proyect as a reggaeton artist.Jay, being raised around reggaeton music, root reggae, salsa, rock and electronic music it was inevitable for Jay to try something new. That's when he decided to start a project called "Proyecto Vega" that involves a unique touch or electronic music and tropical music elements with reggaeton. Jay have being working on live shows, radio interviews and produced all the tracks that are part of Proyecto Vega's repertory. Now established in Miami Jay Vega is stronger than ever with new tracks and promotional presentations that are currently taking place in Miami, all over Fl and P.R. including the new mixtape "Back 2 Business"
