About Me

"The world keeps a balance, through mathematics, defined by whatever you've added and subtracted"
*SLUG*

Who am I? Where am I? How did I get here? More importantly, what the fuck am I doing here !?! Shit - sounds like a flashback to Saturday morning :)OK ...focus ...I'm Mike a.k.a. Zimbo (but you already knew that, right?) and I'm in Seattle (you knew that too!) got here from Zimbabwe (in Africa) via a few years in South Africa and several LONG plane trips! What am I doing here you ask? Working (mostly), partying, having fun and living life (in no particular order)! The rest is all details...My Zune card!

My Interests

As per my career choice (yes, I am a corporate whore for the Evil Empire) - I am interested in all manner of computer gizmo's and gadgetry. I also enjoy building things - anything from computers, to Lego to geodesic domes! I love coding, though I do very little of it outside of work these days! I have a fascination with hand-made musical instruments - though other than limited guitar and didgeridoo skillz, I am purely a spectator :) I am also an avid Yoga practitioner. Recently, I have also been enlightened as to the life-changing effects of going to Burning Man :) My newest toys - powerisers !

I'd like to meet:

Anyone fun and interesting - really ... I'm easy :)

Music:

I love music - it's an important part of my life! One of my favorite things is introducing people to new music ... and if you really want to impress me, bust out some band I haven't heard and like :) I like to think I'm open to everything and run the gamut from dub to drum 'n' bass, Icelandic music to EMO. My roots are definitely in Reggae, 80's electro and acoustic style EMO/Folk (though it needs to be more than pitiful whining!) ... oh and Atmosphere!

Movies:

American Beauty; Baraka and any of the 'skatsi series; Natrual Born Killers (or anything else with Juliette Lewis!); Ghost in the Shell; Ninja Scrolls; Fight Club; Amelie; Run Lola Run (The Princess and the Warrior and Heaven were good too!); Countryman and Rockers; Human Traffic; Legends of the Fall; Braveheart; Trainspotting; Winged Migration; The 5th Element; Lock, Stock and Two Smoking BarrelsOh, and anything by the Broman Brothers (especially if I get to be in it :))

Television:

Family Guy; The Daily Show; Six Feet Under; Curb Your Enthusiasm; The OC (can't help myself!)

Books:

Anything by William Gibson (Neuromancer is still my favorite, though I really liked Pattern Recognition too!) or Neal Stephenson (Snowcrash and Diamond Age are my favorites)! Been reading a lot of John Brunner recently too - Shockwave Rider should be prerequisite for all the l33t out there!

Heroes:

Bob Marley; Nelson Mandela; Che Guevara; Albert Einstein; Leonardo da Vinci; Ghandi;
