I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Well, things have certainly slowed down here! And I admit that I've also jumped on the bandwagon...you can find me on facebook under David BellOtherwise, VERY glad the sunny weather is here - got a new bike, and I carry my frisbee around with me 24/7! I hope to have lots of fun this summer!

My Interests

I listen to music over the span of each day - and night. Every event is better with music! I also enjoy reading immensely - every spare minute. But I also need to fit so much more into my life! Hiking, cooking, watching movies, going to shows of any kind, long walks in the woods, and building snow forts late into the night. I play doctor with my friends, trying to diagnose and cure all the common ailments and believe strongly that a good diet is important on so many levels. I love to play frisbee on the beach and I love to organize my computer so that everything is in its place and pretty. I love going out dancing and busting moves in a circle of friends and onlookers. I like to make my bed and I like to play video games with my friends. (Lovin' the Wii!) Watching the clouds drift by or scoot across the sky is fun - I love to sit under my trees in the backyard contemplating everything and nothing, watching the branches sway and listening to the sounds of the night - or day. The night sky filled with stars enthrall me. And all of these activities are even better when enhanced while smoking the bowls! !

I'd like to meet:

Guys & Girls who are sure of themselves and of their place in the world, that can converse fluently about a variety of subjects - or someone who can spar with a little bit of wordplay...humour, wit, quick-thinking - and common sense. Someone who is fit and able to take care of themselves and is not only aware of the world around them, but is willing to offer a smile of good cheer to a random stranger. Smiling is key - if you frown a lot or are generally dissatisfied with everything around you, please save yourself the effort. I cannot abide those who feel the need to throw temper tantrums or sulk incessantly. If you're unhappy with life around you, don't take it out upon people around you - especially your friends. I enjoy those that can see humour in everything around them - and I enjoy fun! If you really want to add me as a friend, I would suggest striking up a conversation first - simply flooding me with friend requests is a sure-fire way to be rejected. (Unless you have a really cool page or you're hot!

I enjoy many different styles of music - and I can appreciate the music contained in pretty much any music, but I tend to stay away from music that involves screaming or yelling stupid shit. Not a big fan of country either!

Movies:

I love good horror and suspense films. Add some wonder and some magic to any movie and I will probably enjoy it! Star Wars(most), Matrix(most), Garden State, Studio 54, Princess Monoke, Elvira Mistress of the Dark, Lady in the Water, Sixth Sense, Mrs Henderson, Wild Things, Brokeback Mountain, James Bond (many, new and old), V for Vendetta, The Craft, The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, 28 Days Later, King Kong, Tomb Raider, The Minority Report, Charlies Angels, Cruel Intentions, Happy Endings, Sister Act 1 and 2, LOTR(all), Harry Potter(most), Star Trek(most), Transformers, Peter Pan, Shall We Dance, Batman(most), Waiters, Superman(all), Spiderman(all), X-Men(most), Requeim for a Dream, White Squall, Narnia, Madagascar, Mr & Mrs Smith, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Alien Movies, Memento, Vanilla Sky, Donnie Dorko, Butterfly Effect, Twelve Monkeys, The Fifth Element, Kill Bill 1 and 2, Hackers, Silence of the Lambs, Mirrormask, Resident Evil, Underworld, Trainspotting, and assorted animated movies...

Television:

Smallville, Godiva's, Lost, Jeopardy, Family Guy, Supernatural, House, The Daily Show, Dexter, Weeds, The Colbert Report, Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, Jericho. Charmed, Buffy, Angel, Queer As Folk are some of my old faves. I still love watching reruns of assorted Transformers series', although I have not liked the recent series' - a little cheap on the dialogue and plot - a little too much like Power Rangers! I am also recently reminded that I enjoy the Weather Network a little too much. Thankfully, I make good use of the website, and therefore don't get caught as often watching the weather channel for an hour while I read my book :P

Books:

David Eddings, Melanie Rawn, Marion Zimmer Bradley, CJ Cherryh, Andre Norton, Robert Jordan, Jacqueline Carey, David Feintuch, Robin Hobb, Terry Brooks, Terry Goodkind, Storm Constantine, Mercedes Lackey, Stephen R Donaldson, Raymond E Feist, Irene Radford, Phillip Pullman, George RR Martin, Christopher Paolini, Margaret Weis, Deborah Turner Harris, Tracy Hickman, Anne McCaffrey, Katherine Kerr, Katherine Kurtz, F Paul Wilson, Brian Lumley, Graham Masterton, Fred Saberhagen, Clive Barker, Julian May, Jennifer Roberson, Terry Goodkind, Dave Duncan, Lisanne Norman, Tad Williams, Peter Straub, Orson Scott Card, Tom Deitz, Barbara Hambley, Frank Herbert, Peirs Anthony, Mickey Zucker Reichert, Janny Wurts, Susan Cooper, Gordon R Dickson, Richard Pullman, Lois McMaster Bujold, Deborah Turner Harris, JRR Tolkein, JK Rowling, Joan D Vinge, Arthur C Clarke, Guy Gavriel Kay...and I have even enjoyed Shakespeare, Plato, Sun Tzu, Lovecraft, Alfred Lord Tennyson, as well Oscar Wilde. You'll catch me with a dictionary often, and while I read a large variety of genres, you'll quickly note that my favourite genre is high fantasy.

Heroes:

Dr. House is a constant source of inspiration! And, well, I do have a certain fondness for Polgara the Sorceress. What does that say about me, that my heroes are both fictitious characters from television and high fantasy?
