Welcome to the world of Maisha Music. Maisha is Swahili and means Life. At Maisha Music we know that music is a very important part of a lot of peoples life and our aim is to make this part a bit more interesting.Maisha Music is a new Tanzanian label that releases contemporary electronic East African music. Maisha Music is run from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Our main market is the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, but at Maisha Music we also believe that there is a European market for East African music of high quality. At Maisha Music we are very much aware of the fact that a lot of African music has a hard time breaking into the western commercial music industry, but we know that there are a lot of people in Europe that, if exposed to it, will listen to, enjoy and buy African music of a high standard.At Maisha Music we concentrate on contemporary electronic East African music within the styles of pop, reggae, dancehall, hip-hop and chill out/lounge. We combine beautiful African melodies, voices, traditional instruments, rhymes and lyrics with a more western electronic soundscape. We take the best of different cultural and musical backgrounds and combine them into a new appealing sound.At the moment Maisha Music is working on our next release "Maisha Lounge Vol. 1". This album will be out later this year.....
