I am in the nursing program now. I will be very busy. One hour (1 unit) of class requires at least 3 hours of studying. Therefore if I am taking 12 units, then that would mean I will be studying for at least 36 hours. Due to all of the studying, I will not be on Myspace very often. I am not trying to be neglectful or rude to anyone here, but if I don't answer your messages, comment on your pages, or IM, then it's because of the studying. Lately, I've been losing some friends here because I haven't been keeping up with them. I guess some people just don't understand. :(
Hi everyone. I'm Kathy, a Filipino girl who currently lives in San Bernardino. I was born and raised in Southern California, but thanks to my dad's Navy career, I got several opportunities to travel in various locations (several parts of the US, Guam, Spain, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, etc.). The military is a very big deal in my family. So many family members either retired after 20 years (in some cases, more than that), or served at least four years. I hope to follow the family tradition after finishing college. I might join the Air Force or the Navy.
I recently transferred to California State University as a pre-nursing major, but I have so many units in my transcript, so I'm classified as a senior. I still have a long way to go (I kept switching majors). I want to minor in psychology because I'm fascinated by how people think and act. Also, I think it will help me with my plan to become a psychological nurse in the military.
Although I'm usually shy and reserved around people I don't know very well, I can be an extremely talkative and lively person with a penchant for all kinds of humor (from the extremely corny to the very bizarre) when I finally get to know someone. I'm very patient with others (I usually give people the benefit of the doubt). I'm always willing to listen to friends' and family members' concerns.
Okay, as far as other traits are concerned...
I'm:
Very honest (sometimes to the point of being blunt [yet tactful])
Obsessed with cleanliness and good personal hygiene
Generous (I don't have a problem with sharing my belongings as long as people take care of them)
A constant worrier who can sometimes be overbearing
Even though I'm studying to be a nurse, my true dream is to become a doctor (which is what I'll be someday). I want to save many lives. Even if I have to face the inevitable (a patient dying after all possible treatments were used), I want to be able to provide care, support, and an encouraging smile to all patients. I know I can't save the world, but can you blame me for trying?=D
