"In My Way, from Washington, D.C. play bare bones old school hardcore the way it was meant to be played, with conviction. They do a masterful job of blending the modern youth crew sound of today with the greatest period of SxE hardcore known to man, the early Revelation records years without coming off as a rehash." Jeff Karbow, Siczine.com
IN MY WAY played our first show July of 2004, at the University of Maryland, with TAEA, One Up, Still Crossed, and some others. Practicing in Jordo's room in Hyattsville, MD (a DC suburb), IMW immediately took to playing local shows almost weekly with bands like the Hate Crimes, Full Nelson, Nick Fury, and the great TAEA. Alex shortly left the band, and Matt Parsons quickly joined the band, and helped adopt the great sound you hear on the A389 ep. After countless shows up and down the east coast (BIB FEST!), Parsons moved on, and our close friend Leo joined. What became was an amazing split 7" with our friends in And Down Goes Frazier, on Thrashed! Records. Still in print, even with both bands now broken up, the split really captures what we think hardcore was in 2006. David came aboard after Leo decided to do other things, and the final reincarnation of In My Way played out a handful of times...
big thanks to Rudy, Lord Dom, Mike Frazier, Joe Mitra, Chris Camden, the Bennett family, Bethany, Drew, DC/MD/VA, and all of our friends everywhere.
