I'm a cowboy. Yee-haw.

About Me

I'm a cowboy but I don't like my guns. Sometimes I love my horse.

My Interests

Analytic philosophy, composition, modern poetry, correspondence chess, film, French cuisine, color field paintings. There's probably more.
Oh right. Sex with 12 year olds. More of a hobby than an interest.

I'd like to meet:

Someone who wants to buy my guns.

Music:

Josquin, BACH, Beethoven, Dussek, Alkan, Brahms, Faure, STRAVINSKY, Schoenberg, Prokofiev, Hindemith, Webern, Boulez, Stockhausen, Xenakis, Lukas Foss, Rzewski, lots more. Those are the big ones.
Oh, and Jelly Roll Morton, Bix Biederbecke, Art Tatum, Eddie Lang, Fats Waller, Thelonius Monk (just the solo stuff).
Oh. And French 60's stuff. Bridgette Bardot, Jane Birkin, France Gall, Claude Francois, Jacques Dutronc, SERGE GAINSBOURG. April March is cool, too, even if she isn't really French.

Movies:

Anything by Kubrick, Hitchcock, Truffaut (except Farenheit 451) or Chaplin. Also good: Buster Keaton, Woody Allen, Wes Anderson, Fellini, Bergman, Kurasawa, Billy Wilder, George Cukor, Mike Nichols, Yasojiro Ozu. A lot of others.
What else? Um. The 400 Blows, Amelie, Fight Club, Lost in Translation. Heck. I like lots of movies.
Definitely, definitely, definitely NOT LOTR. I **HATE** LOTR!

Television:

I hate television. Except maybe Turner Classic Movies. Classic cinema, no commercials... what more can you ask for really?

Books:

Fiction: 9 Stories, Franny and Zoe, Dubliners, Lolita, Goodbye Columbus. Short stories by Roald Dahl or Truman Capote.
Poetry: Richard Wilbur, Howard Nemerov, Masuoka Shiki, Kobayashi Issa, Stephen Crane, Frost, Eliot, Pound, Williams, Pope, Dryden. Shelley and Keats are okay, but I don't usually like Romantic poetry.
Nonfiction: Fast Food Nation, Stupid White Men, Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus... no one cares about this anyway. Skip it.

Heroes:

Maya Angelou, Abigail Adams, Camille Paglia. Strong women figures, you know, that sort of thing.
No, not REALLY.

My Blog

Day 1

I watched a pretty fun documentary about castles along the Rhine on television. Note: I hate television, but I cannot stop watching sometimes. Particularly documentaries that strike an NPR introsp...
