About Me

My name is Helly. I have no middle name.
In a nutshell, I was born in Germany, raised in Southern California, and educated in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara. I spent 4 years on active duty with the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, and am now working as a software engineer. I have a 4-year-old son, Todd, who is both an angel and prime mischief-maker, but I love him nonetheless :-)
And of course, I have a variety of favorites and interests that are outlined in their very own section to the left, so this section can be kept fairly brief!

My Interests

Reading, swimming, tennis, hanging out with my friends, playing on the computer (duh!). Mother Nature and I do not get along, so if I must do outdoor activities, it'll be at the beach! :-)

Fill er up

Allan fondly recalls the days when his grandmother would hand the gas station attendant a $5 bill to fill up the tank of their car-- you know, the pre-self-service days. While he refuses to acknowledg...
