This international event is the world’s hottest competition for unsigned acts where bands battle it out in a series of heats, semi-finals, regional finals and a national final where one representative from each country is chosen to compete in the international arena at the World Final.The World Battle of the Bands is seeking out the hottest, unsigned acts from six countries spanning the Pacific Rim. This is a competition organized by musicians for musicians. The aim is to seek out the most astounding live music the world has to offer. 2005 saw around 400 bands, performing in 29 venues, almost 200 shows, in six countries… World Battle of the Bands has once again expanded to encompass more regions. Eight countries will now be battling it out for their place at this year’s world final in Hong Kong. The World Battle of the Bands 2006 now features some of the biggest cities in the Asia Pacific Rim. super cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore and Manila are now joined by Beijing and Taipei. One of North Americas most iconic city, New York, will also be joining in the competition. Battles which continue to get better every year in New Zealand Australia and LA will no doubt supply some stiff competition again this year.Each countries winner gets a trip to Hong Kong to compete in the World Finals including airfares and accommodation. Other prizes include the chance to win a recording contract, studio time in New Zealand and Hong Kong, musical equipment and much more. The 2006 series has been announced for October with this years World Final taking place in Hong Kong. The USA winner will be flown to Hong Kong to battle against bands from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Philippines & Hong Kong.THIS ISN'T YOUR AVERAGE BAND COMPETITION, ITS THE INTERNATIONAL REAL DEAL! - now in it's 3rd year, World Battle Of The Bands has proven to provide a real chance for the winners to get international exposure and a record deal.This years World winners will record a single in Hong Kong at A Room Productions (the studio of Davy Chan of LMF fame) immediately after the World Final. The single will be mixed by a world class production teamed to be announced soon. A video clip will be edited from the World Final.
