About Me

Once brought into our program, our dogs are kept for a minimum of one month (puppies longer) to ensure that proper temperament assessment is done. We test them with children, other animals and in all types of situations. We also work with them in obedience while they are with us, to ensure that you adopt a well rounded and well behaved new family member. If you are interested in fostering or adopting a NHPBR dog, please visit New Hope Pit Bull Rescue and read our policies and fill out an application. We base adoptions on the best interest and family fit for the dog, so first come first serve does not apply with our adoption process.

New Hope Pit Bull Rescue is a small foster home based organization founded by Alicia Domina and Kat Riley, who together have more than twenty years of experience with the "bully" breeds. We are dedicated to rehabilitating and re-homing unwanted, stray and abandoned Pit Bull type dogs (including the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier), and to promoting humane treatment of animals through educational programs for our community. We are committed to providing quality veterinary care, as well as, socializing, training, behavioral modification where needed, exercise and daily companionship for all animals in our program. Our passion is to inspire and engage the community to help end animal suffering, and to reduce the number of homeless pets through the promotion of low cost spay and neuter programs in our community.
New Hope Pit Bull Rescue is a foster home based rescue.
What does this mean? It means that our dogs are NOT kept closed up in kennels while waiting to be adopted. We rely on foster homes to help us rehabilitate, train, socialize and prepare dogs in our program for adoption. If you feel that you have enough room in your heart and home to care for one of these most deserving dogs, we would LOVE to hear from you. Without the generosity of other dog lovers, many wonderful animals will die in shelters.
Another one of our biggest concerns is BSL, or Breed Specific Legislation. It is our hope, to educate those who misunderstand these (and other) breeds, and to encourage responsible pet ownership of all animals.
Please don't buy while shelter pets die.
