My name is Merce though you can call me Mers. I'm 23 and living in Barcelona, Spain. I'm originally from Manila, Philippines and moved here at the age of 9.
Studying 3rd year college (Translation and Interpreting). I speak 5 languages (English, Spanish, Catalan, Tagalog and French) and have started a self-study Italian course a couple of months ago. Thinking about taking English Philology or Graphic Designing in the future...if I still have the strength...and the money.
I'm also a singer but not doing it professionally. I have performed in concerts organized for the Filipino community here in Barcelona. I've also had the chance to record some English and Spanish songs with a Spanish composer I met 5 years ago. You'll be able to check out some of these songs in the Flash player that I've added in my page. I'm having problems finding a good file hosting site, so this one song should do for now.
Recently I've been having the urge to start my own band and bring some songs I've written down to life but it's not easy to find a band. I met 2 brothers some years ago, they were perfect but due to their work, our busy schedules and the fact that they lived in another city, it made it impossible for us to pursue our dreams. Who knows? Maybe our paths will meet again in the future. *crosses fingers*
I'm planning on going to the US after college and find out what possibilities I have there. I owe myself a 3-month vacation before finally setting foot in the real world of paying one's bills and working Monday to Friday, lol.

More About Me

I enjoy photography, that's why I take advantage whenever my baby nephew is around to take some nice shots with my Nikon D50. I would like to take some photography lessons in the future, but as usual, wishes and dreams may take some time to really be fulfilled. I’ll try to keep my slideshows updated, so drop by from time to time to check them out.

Other hobbies would be reading, watching movies, singing, writing songs, cooking, drawing, designing (posters, invitations, CD covers...), staying .. until very veeery late and, consequently, sleeping lots of hours to recover -so, yes, I can say sleeping is another hobby of mine, lol-.

I also like to travel though I'm not having the chance to do so lately. I'm sure I'll find some time when I start working and saving some extra money. I still have most of Europe and the US to see, as well as some cities in Asia. And of course, I should never forget those wonderful beaches and islands: Maldives, Hawaii, Tahiti…

If you want to know more about my travelling adventures, check out My World Travel Map and discover the places where I've lived, I've visited and would like to visit in the future. Care to join me in any of my future trips?
