I guess I'm a little geekish: computers, symbian phones and other gadgets always tempt me / Music is important, both classical and pop. I sing too, choirs and stuff, non-cool I know :-) / Books, although these days I tend to do recreational reading on vacations only. / Internet (duh) / Good food, as long as somebody else cooks as I lack all kitchen skills / Finally, I don't know if it's an 'interest' actually, but I have a place in the middle of the woods, right by a lake, where I have spent my summers ever since I was a kid, and that place is special. It keeps me connected to nature and reminds me of values greater than gadgets.
I'd like to meet interesting people with stories to tell. Intelligence is a must, formal education not necessarily. Sense of humor and a positive attitude wouldn't hurt either. You think I'm asking too much? Nah, I know you're out there :-)
Currently on my cell-phone playlist in no particular order: Alanis Morrissette, Shania Twain, Seal, Bette Midler, Phil Collins, Norah Jones, George Michael, Elton John, Sheryl Crow, Faith Hill, Maija Vilkkumaa (a Finnish female artist), Maria McKee, Marc Antony, Richard Marx, Robbie Williams. And then, to shock everyone here LOL I might add Richard Wagner's Ring. The four operas, you know. I've seen them twice and got hooked right away. I don't have them on my cell-phone though :-)
Just saw the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy movie. These days I don't go to movies that often... can't even remember what the previous one was. A blockbuster from this summer I'm sure, but the name as well as the story line escapes me now... must have been a great film LOL
24, CSI, CSI Miami, Sex and the City, NYPD Blues, Six Feet Under (first season... then I kinda lost interest..), X-files when it started (now it has historical value), Stargate, Babylon 5 (haven't seen it in ages though). I'm not that much into reality tv series, seen very little of the various Big Brothers, just a few episodes of the Apprentice, and that's about it.
Recently I've read the following: Dan Brown (Da Vinci code, Angels and Demons, Deception Point), Alice Hoffman (Probable future), Anna Gavalda (Someone I loved), Katy Gardner (Losing Gemma), Maeve Binchy (Night of Stars and Rain) and Virpi Hämeen-Anttila (a book in Finnish). I've also read my share of Agatha Christie and John Irving, as well as authors such as Asimov, Heinlein and Clarke, but it has been a while.
I'm afraid I'm a bit career oriented and many of the people I look up to and admire are colleagues. I wish I could think of someone like Mother Theresa as my hero, but... my mind just doesn't work that way. Too practical, like someone once told me.
But perhaps quizzes come to my rescue. there is a goddess I identify with...:
