Randy Meadows was born in Jacinto City, Texas on October 15, 1959. Growing up in Pasadena, Texas he was more noted for his baseball skills than his music. In 1979 he was reunited with his father Bucky Meadows - legendary pianist and guitarist most noted for his work with Willie Nelson.
Randy's focus soon shifted from baseball and he began his career in music by organizing the band "Tumbleweed Connection", touring New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Texas, until they disbanded in 1987.Randy then became the lead singer of the "Straight Up Band", a popular Houston based group that performed at nightclubs, festivals, hotels and weddings.The 90's began with him doing theatrical productions of "The Best Lil' Whorehouse in Texas" and "Patsy Cline, Always." He then began doing appearances with The Ronnie Renfro Big Band (an 18-piece orchestra) as a guest singer and guitarist.Also during this time, Randy wrote, recorded and produced his first album, You've Been Kind of Cold. Soon after, he co-produced The Moving Men,an album with other talented Houston artists and musicians. In 1998, he began touring with recording artist, Doug Supernaw as his guitarist.He has recently released a new album Family Portrait which includes guest appearances by Willie Nelson and legendary musician Bucky Meadows.Randy has also assigned himself the duty of writing a movie script entitled "Fools Gold", a true Texas western.Look for Randy to continue into the new millennium writing and producing new products to add to the Sound of Texas!
