I work in Data Processing and have for over 14 years. Can't say I wouldn't try something else. But again, who know's what the future holds?! Everyone needs a change at some point.
I own my own home and live alone, but not by choice. Bought a newly built home in 2003 with my mom after living with/caring for my parents until my father died. Less than a year after buying the home my mom was diagnosed with advanced Alzheimer's, she is now in a nursing home (not my choice). So now I have a 4 bedroom, 3400 sq foot home that's too big for just me.
I do have friends that bring people over to "party" sometimes, but other than that I'm a very private person. There are times I want to be left alone, for no other reason than to have time to myself.
Owning a home is a full-time job and I enjoy keeping my home looking great inside. However, a kitchen fire in January 2008 caused about $30,000 in damages and created a huge mess for nearly three months. Even after the construction/remodeling was done, it took many weeks to put it all back together. Other than that, I try to keep it nice and updated. Suppose I watch too much Trading Spaces.
Overall, I'm just my own person, unique I suppose. I work, sleep, drink my beer and repeat. In between I play on the Internet, look for local people online to chat with and harm no one. I've been known to be overly trusting, and it's bit me in the ass many times. But live and learn, right?
