------------
After meeting at a macrame convention in the autumn of 1978, The Icy Shores first performances were as the backing band for the late Dr. Hugo Beefmangler, on his wildly successful Pacific Rim "Beef Train" tour. After the beefwagon crashed, as the saying goes, the band feverishly began work on their first outing as a group. They recorded their first 7", entitled "Mimicking The Way You Ridicule Me (So Well That It Makes Us Both Cry)" to near universal acclaim. The record was a smash hit in several small villages in French Indochina and led to a number of high profile appearances in a magazine. Unfortunately, all 4 members of the band contracted dysentery from a bad bowl of beef noodle soup, finally resulting in them going their separate ways, citing "artistic differences"...
...Until now, when the band has resurfaced in equally exotic Minneapolis, MN! The band is now much older and the members have lost the vast majority of their hair, inspiration and fingers, but they are determined to rock out, seriously. Look for their explosive presence everywhere, because explosions become big very quickly! Sending churning guitars into streaming walls of sound to gargle in your mouth, ears and anus, floating behind vast swimming pool-like chunks of reverberating nothingness, beaming explosions into your eyes and in the back of your pants, chugging with the rage of a toy train stuck on a kittens back. Ladies and gentlemen, The Icy Shores.
