Neopolitan Sixth chords, in the correct inversion of course.... Sorry to anyone who desn't get that, it's a sad in joke of mine. Writing, performing, studying music. Reading anything worthwhile. Watching anything worthwhile. Please send other cliched answers to me on a postcard.
Igor Stravinsky and Freddie Mercury but it aint gonna happen. Also, Taylor Hanson (again) so that I can actually get a decent picture with him (not just one where I look like a crazy fan. I also feel he needs to be spoken to about his bizarre piano technique! Other than that, feel free to talk to me, I'm usually pretty friendly! Of course it helps though if you've got the same interests and/or are from the lovely North. I'd also be very pleased to hear from you if you're someone I know but haven't seen in ages.
I like to think that I have quite a wide musical taste and that every kind of music has it's place. So even though dance music is generally shite, it is rather fitting to hear it blurring out of a chav's pimped up car. I like musicians who have strived to create a sound unique to them (or have stolen ideas from many different sources but have done a good job of covering it up!).Classical: Lovely lovely Ludwig Van Beethoven, Hector Berlioz, Claude Debussy, Peter Tchaikovsky, Charles Ives, Igor Stravinsky, Carl Orff, Gustav Holst, Bela Bartok and a million others that I haven't listed.Pop/ Rock: Queen, Oingo Boingo, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Muse, cheesy pop that I'm not going to admit to (although Hanson remain a great band!)and corny 80s metal that I was brought up on(Bon Jovi, Thunder).Film Music: Danny Elfman, Bernard Herrmann are the people whose scores I would happily buy on CD, however Jerry Goldsmith, Hans Zimmer and Michael Kamen always manage to liven up a film. I have no time for James Horner and John Williams has enough fans without adding me to the list. Also, let's not forget jazz singer Cab Calloway. Hi de hi de hi everyone!
A Clockwork Orange, Forbidden Zone, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Psycho, The Lion King (*blushes*), Big Fish, The Shining, Ed Wood, Edward Scissorhands, The Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, Shine, Memento.
That Funny Man on BBC4! Lost, Friends, The Simpsons, Family Guy. Sadly I will watch Emmerdale, Corrie and Eastenders if they're on.
Anthony Burgess-'A Clockwork Orange', HG Wells-'The War of the Worlds', 'The Time Machine', Douglas Adams-'The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy'.
All the aforementioned people- all the musicians on my list, Salvador Dali, Tim Burton. I never really liked the term 'heroes' anyway.
