About Me

MOVE OVER MARTINA--BRANDI THORNTON IS ABOUT TO BLOW IT UP!
As most of y'all know (or those that can deduct), I am Jen! I was born and raised in the good ol' Chapel Hill, TN. I spent 13 years in the same school and graduated with a class of 60 people---I know, shocker! My hometown is known for the elusive Railroad Ghost, Nathan Bedford Forrest, and the South's largest Tractor Pull. We're special.
I am a very loud talker at times. I just get excited and have a tendency to over-express myself. I giggle, I laugh, I howl. I laugh when I'm nervous and probably at the worse times. I can tell horrible jokes and wait for the "O...M...G" moment when you realize how bad it really was. I will quote movies, music, books and expect you to play along. I am goofy as all get out. Sometimes I have a hard time being serious, but I will be when the time calls for it. I'm highly sentimental. I'm pretty sure I was born in the wrong decade. I'd say I was meant to be a 50's or an 80's child. I love all movies. Of course scary movies are my favorite. I'm talking from the well thought out plotted ones to the campy, cheesy ones. Halloween is my all time fave. Music is Heaven sent. I love it! Good songs are like a natural high---maybe you can grasp that analogy. Hair bands, oldies, Elvis, R & B, Rock, Country, Top 20, Reggae, Techno...I love it all! Of course Michael Buble is my favorite musician and quite possibly my favorite person EVER! He's my type of guy. If I could just get my hands on him...
Actually though, if Michael and I don't work out, I will probably fall back on the "rough and ready" type. The type that likes the outdoors: fishing, hunting, sports...the adventurous one. I like em tough. I like em with meat on their bones. Not overly muscular but strong. He HAS to be funny! Outgoing...very outgoing. Can hold his own in a conversation. Good hair, great smile. Honest. Well adjusted. He'll definitely have to fit in with the 221 Mafia. If you can't, you're not gonna last. That means, you gotta like games: card games, board games, video games. You like to talk about whatever Jamie and Daniel like to talk about when the girls are talking about what they like to talk about on the other side of the table...which could be any source of topic...we don't know, we never pay attention to them. Our guess is golf and the DOW Jones (HA!) No drama. No baggage. He'll have to love movies. Road trips. I don't want him perfect. You gotta have some flaws. I just want a good guy. I'm not out looking for 'the one' but if it happens, it happens.
The retail world has hardened me. Y'all work with the public on a daily basis and tell me how sane you can stay. People are crazy. But it has also been a blessing to me. I have learned to become very outgoing and conversational with the strangest of strangers. I can hold my own. I'm a very NON confrontational person, but when the time calls for it, I have no problem standing up for myself. I may cry in the process, but I'm probably so angry that I can't help it.
Ok well, I got a bit carried away here. And this is just a glimpse of a life 24 years in the making.

My Interests

Guys. Michael Buble. Music. Concerts. Movies. Closed Captions. TV. My tivo. My tivo remote. Laughing. Laughing so hard my stomach hurts and tears are coming down. Winter. Fall. Spring. Summer. Yorkies. My boxer. The moon. The stars. I always wanted to be an astronaut until I saw Space Camp---then, not so much, yet I still have this fascination with the Solar System. Yes, I believe in aliens. And on that subject I believe in ghosts too. My dvd box sets. If only I could get people to return them. LOST!!!! Fishing. The lake. Holidays. Esp. Halloween! Shoes. Ann Taylor Loft. Mellow Mushroom. Dumplin's. Historic sites. The park. Sunny days. Staying under the covers on rainy days. Guys. Comedians. Mitch Hedberg (R.I.P), Dane Cook (Let's Do This!), Brian Regan (It's Breeeoooonnn), Matthew Perry (WAH-PAH), and Ellen (KAAA!) I love a person that can make me laugh. The Spinach dip at J. Alexander's! It is soooooo good. It's my favorite place! Don Pablo's for my Mexican fix! A comfy bed. Good smellin' stuff. Like guava mango, clean sheets, babies, lumber, a bonfire, honeysuckle, even the smells of the country that make some people go eew, like cows for example. Then there's the smell of sharpies and gasoline. I know, I know. A guys cologne. Good shampoo. The salon. Moving on from smells...all sorts of games. Board games, card games, video games, bowling, football, baseball, basketball, tennis, frisbee. I'm a competitive person. But, I'm not a sore loser, thankfully. However, I'm a nazi for the rules. Oh there's more...I hate feet: yours, mine, hers, his...ick, smooth legs, a manly man, I like my man, and I emphasize MAN, strong, strong-willed, and can take on an independent and hard-headed, yet easy-going gal like myself. I don't want a smooth talker. I've learned the more a guy builds himself up, the more he'll let you down. So if you're gonna talk the talk, I'm gonna need to see you walk the walk. I don't like being disappointed. No posers! Be real. Be who you are. Ok, got a bit heavy there for a minute. Singstar! God gave me the love for music, but forgot to throw in the talent. Holding hands. Cuddling on the couch while watching a good movie. back rubs. Smiling. The song "Way Down Deep" by Vern Gosdin and Ralph Stanley. I'm obsessed with the song "I'll Fly Away"---I think I have about 5 different versions of it on my ipod. SEC Football! Live sporting events...of any kind, except soccer. Netflix. The outdoors. Bonfires in the fall! Eating chili when it's cold outside! Text messages (no matter what time it is). My newfound affection for the Hibachi Grill---yum!! Puckett's grilled chicken salad. Guys that have nice smiles. Deodorant (esp in yummy scents). Naps. The Grand Ole Opry. Concerts. Country music. Downtown Nashville...esp. Broadway

I'd like to meet:

Someone to share my chicken fajitas with! No, seriously :-P To add on from my previous ramble up there in the "about me" section: sweet as pie, cute as a bug , honest like Abe, funny as Chandler Bing! Older than me please. Here's a tough one for guys to digest: MONOGAMOUS! I only have room in my heart for one guy, so return the favor! I like games, but I don't play mind games and won't engage in those that males play. And it's a plus if you can sing and/or play an instrument (ahem, but a cool instrument, i.e. guitar, drums, accordion...:-P)I was born with an enormous need for affection, and a terrible need to give it. Oh and if you don't give me butterflies(you know, the kind that make your stomach do flip flops): NEXT!

I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. [When Harry Met Sally]

Well, it was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were suppose to be together... and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her. It was like coming home... only to no home I'd ever known... I was just taking her hand to help her out of a car and I knew. It was like... magic [Sleepless in Seattle]

"Be very careful if you make a woman cry, because God counts her tears. The woman came out of a man's rib. Not from his feet to be walked on. Not from his head to be superior, but from the side to be equal. Under the arm to be protected, and next to the heart to be loved."
