We met after being assigned side-by-side lockers at W.R. Thomas Middle School and we shared one common obsession at that age: 50’s Rock ‘N Roll. We loved the “Fab Four†when they were Greasers playing rock ‘n roll for hooligans in England; untouched by America’s mop topped Beatlemania. A little afterwards, Thrash, Horror Punk, Riot Grrl Rock, Gutter Punk and finally Oi! music- basically took over our young lives. Punk rock personally saved my life, no question. However, I strongly believe amidst bleak suburban chaos- our friendship saved each another. There’s no one in this world (besides her mom) that knows G the way I do… And quite frankly, I got pretty tired of her blank “About Me†section so I decided to fill it in. God, I really love you G. We have had this unbreakable bond since we were little girls. Partly due to the countless things we have in common, and then to the core of our mutual belief in unity. I mean, a lot of people say, “Oh, I believe in unity… blah, unity is what I stand for†and those same people end up being so full of shit that they can’t even touch loyalty. I’ve had my brush with people like that all my life, but fortunately I’ve been able to look upon G as someone with integrity, loyalty and graciousness. That is why we “clickâ€. I can totally trust G with anything. She’s got absolutely no sneaky, snake-like or envious tendencies. G appreciates the little advices a friend gives; she is someone with kindness and sincerity. She’s a real person. G is by no means a fake or selfish person. In fact, the only thing I can say about her in a negative light is sometimes she is too nice; she might be a little too tolerant at times. Kind of trying to please everyone around her- even if she believes they may not have deserved it later on. She’s got incredible hindsight though, and does not repeat those mistakes. She is unapologetic when giving advice, and it’s because she sincerely cares about whomever she’s giving advice to. If someone offered G $1,000 to break the confidentiality of a friend- she’d go home with empty pockets. Yet another reason why I respect her the way I do. Honesty, Confidentiality, Respect, Loyalty and a genuine care for someone is the definition of Unity. Also getting someone’s back- because friendship must also include a bit of altruism. These philosophies seem a little out there to others I’m sure… not to G and I. That is why she and I have been best friends for going on 17 years! Man, the only real punk rock girls at our high school were G and I… then we had our “boysâ€, other girls didn’t really like us. I wonder why. **smiles** Also everyone loved metal and rap while we dug punk, thrash and hardcore. We were (and still remain) true to our rock ‘n roll roots, but are practically slaves to our love for punk rock. G was there when I got my first tattoo years ago of The Misfits’ Fiend. She then succumbed to “tattoo fever†years later- and got AFI tattooed. Hehehe
After all these years and 7 tattoos later… We still get “live music fever†and do everything we can to support good underground and local acts; doing lots of promoting. We still get goose bumps at the sight of John Lennon in a leather jacket with cuffed jeans, sideburns and greased hair. She relates to Davey Havok while I relate to Mike Ness. Hey, we’ve gotta have something not in common lol. Special Agent, God knows you’ve been there for me. Don’t change your step for anyone and don’t let anyone put you down. Hey, you know I’ll be there for you forever- just like I told you when we were little kids with bad Mohawks (me) and imitation docs (you). God bless you “paperâ€.

PS: When you left our high school, I was so devastated that I clothed myself in black Sepultura shirts and piercings- just so I could “disappearâ€â€¦ Black lipstick and Dead Kennedys T-shirts? Only in my world. Lol Why did you leave meeeee? lol lol I love you G.
… Remember all those shows?
