About Me

I just wrapped up my sophomore year at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Continuing lessons in voice and composition, and looking forward to getting my degree in Music Composition in a couple years.

Began arranging music for my high school marching band my junior year, and, stemming from the excitement I always felt when writing music, I arranged a medley of traditional Christmas songs which culminated in my first premiered work, "Celebrazione de Natale", for wind band.

"Minor Epic" is a string quartet piece I wrote for our visiting performers the FLUX Quartet, for our annual New Music Festival here at ECU. I plan to make this a part of a multi-movement work.

"In Peace", my latest work, received it's premiere on November 8, 2007, by peers in the School of Music. This piece (which I wrote in the summer of 2007) sparked a huge interest in the sound of string instruments, and I still find myself sketching melodies that hint back to this piece.

A definite result of my newly-found love for strings was "Glory", which was finished in the early fall of 2007. Originally, I had written it for string orchestra with two cello parts. However, since I don't exactly have an orchestra at my disposal, I figured it would sound just as great as a sextet; the sextet in this case being two violins, one viola, two cellos, and double-bass. It was premiered by of School of Music friends on April 11, 2008.

Hope you enjoy! All comments are welcomed and appreciated.
