Fujiyama Mama

Well, mah baby drove up in a brand new cadillac. I said, JESUS, baby, where'd you get that brand new

About Me

I'm not a friend whore who feels like if I don't have hundreds of Myspace friends then my life is a complete waste. I don't need more little pictures of strangers - I would prefer to have friends who are interesting people. Don't waste your time adding me as a friend if you aren't going to communicate with me. I do "clean house" occasionally.

My Interests

These are the things I enjoy when I have the time and/or the opportunity presents itself:

Good books
Hot tea
Shopping for Christmas presents
A big pot of ham and beans
The smell of autumn leaves
Happy songs
Sad songs
Angry songs
Funny songs
Making new friendships
Maintaining old friendships
Snuggling on the couch
New Year's Eve kisses
Hillbilly music
A twangy ol' gee-tar
The sound of a cello
Listening to a full choir singing a hymn in Latin
Four-part harmonies
Ranch-flavored Doritos w/a Turkey Sandwich
Opening the door for strangers
Saying Thank You when a stranger holds the door open for me
Warm blankets
Bubble bath while listening to Billie Holiday
Saying "Bless You" when someone sneezes
Peppermint candies
The smell of lavender
Raspberry Fizz candles from Home Interiors
Reading Hamlet when everyone is out of the house
Everyone being out of the house
New mown grass
A good love story
Playing video games until 4 a.m.
Fairy tales
Stories where the good guy wins
Thunderstorms
TV shows about tornados
Snuggles from my daughter
My husband playing with my hair

A Sunday afternoon nap

I'd like to meet:

People who actually have something more to say than LOL.

Wanda Jackson -- Fujiyama Mama

Reverend Organ Drum clip

Music:

I'm such a junkie for music, but I'm currently hooked on rockabilly and psychobilly especially the Rev.

The Rev does Conan. Check out Jimbo throwing his bass in the air at the end. AWESOME.

I'm in my own Galaxy . . . 1973 . . .

Hey baby, I got a pig! He's pink and he's big!

Nurture my piiiiiiiiiiig!

Gene Vincent

Eddie Cochran

Movies:

Movies that elicit strong emotions from me - joy, anger, fear, sadness. I love a tearjerker just as much as I love a comedy.

Pixar animated movies. Too bad they're being bought out by Disney. I hope they don't start churning out movies with crappy stories and lame dialogue.

Television:

I envy people who have time to watch television.

The Rev . . . Hey Johnny Bravo!

Books:

Harry Potter books, Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Airframe by Michael Crichton, Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper, anything by Madeleine L'Engle, Ender series and Alvin Maker series by Orson Scott Card, Witness to Hope

Heroes:

My mom for her complete self-giving to her family

John Paul II for his complete self-giving to the church

Mother Teresa for her complete self-giving to the poor

My husband for his complete self-giving to his family.
And for not beating me over the head with a frying pan. Trust me, I've earned the occasional painful beating at times.

Trying to get some work done tonight, I was more than a little surprised to hear Sylvia's bedroom door open and see her walk in with one arm covered in vomit.  She said her stomach is upset. ...

Roaring start to the school year

There's nothing as energizing at 2:45 a.m. as a 6-year-old next to my bed with vomit-covered hands saying, "Momma, I just threw up."  After 30 minutes of cleaning her up and scrubbing the carpet ...

Chad Ray Long

I'm very sad tonight.  When I was in high school, I sometimes babysat a little boy and his younger sister.  He was a blonde haired, blue eyed darling.  His mom told me how much he adore...
