The Sound:
Rockwell Jones is the melodic force brooding within the borders of Arlington, Virginia. Some call Rockwell's sound a fusion of funk, classic rock, acoustic rock and metal. Others call it an entirely new genre. We just call it rock, done well.
The Band:
Rockwell Jones has been through the paces with a lineup almost as fluid as their sound. Founding members Mike Barrett (Guitar/Vocals) and Mark Lansburgh (Bass) got nothing but frustration from their dream as drummers and singers came and went.
In January of 2005, Rockwell Jones found their front-man in Brian Friedman (Guitar/Vocals) after a series of grueling auditions. Stepping into the room as a solo folk artist, the fit with Brian seemed extremely unlikely, that is, until the music was made. The group bonded instantly as battles were won and Rockwell's debut EP, "Becoming", was released. Things were looking up, but by early 2006 Rockwell Jones would again find themselves in search of a drummer.
Rockwell did what any band hell bent on success would do - they buckled down for the endless string of auditions to come. Week after week, one drummer after the next was led to the slaughter. Finally, a young Alexandria native by the name of Jesse McCormick entered the room and once again the songs had life. With Rockwell's lineup complete, a triumphant return to the stage was in the making.
Together, these four diverse musicians from backgrounds spanning metal to folk have come together to create an entirely new sound. Songs loaded with relevant lyrics and catchy breaks are sure to propel Rockwell Jones to the top.
