Aspherium was formed in October 2007 when Marius and Torgeir sought to form a new band. They asked Bjørn Tore to come to an audition, and he was quickly enlisted as the drummer for Aspherium.
The three-piece started rehearsing, and soon went and recorded a three-song promo.The drums were recorded at Strand Studio with Marius Strand who is also mixing and mastering. Guitar, bass and vocals were recorded at Abnormal Audio Assembly.
Dawn of apocalypse rising opens the promo on a brutal note with an unsettling intro with fast tremolo picked guitars, followed by complete mayhem with pummeling double bass and a brilliant guitar riff. The only song with no clean vocals, the melody is carried by brutal, but catchy guitar riffs, and shredding lead guitar.
World on fire is a mid paced heavy and grooving track. The song is carried by stunning guitar riffs, a catchy melodic chorus, and a driving tight rythm, making it impossible not to headbang.
Blackpoint millennium finishes the promo off in an epic way. Consisting of brutal riffs, acoustic guitars, melodic vocals, death metal growls, harmony guitars, ethereal choirs and a full on thrash metal ending, this song has it all.
Aspherium kicks your face in with this promo, and leaves you wanting more. The future looks bright for Aspherium. Look out for the promo on myspace in the coming week.
