Progressive-Power-Metal Fanatic

About Me

2004 - 2007 I played guitar in a local metal band called Rvbikon; you can hear our music on myspace. Also interested in intellectual stuff: Humanities, psych, history, etc.Your Political Profile: Overall: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal Social Issues: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal Personal Responsibility: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal Fiscal Issues: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal Ethics: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal Defense and Crime: 100% Conservative, 0% Liberal THE ALBUM I HAD BEEN SEARCHING FOR BEFORE IT EXISTED.

My Interests

Writing and collecting music. Physical fitness. Social theory. Boxer dogs. Love is: Befriend a Boxer and you've got a friend for life!

I'd like to meet:

Andre Corbin, guitarist who played on Helstar's seminal Nosferatu album. I've been searching for him for several years and have his location pinpointed...beware! Update: thanks to this great site I've found him! A few years ago I had the opportunity to interview my favorite metal vocalist, Russ Anderson, formerly of Forbidden. A great experience. I was fortunate enough to meet some of the greatest names in thrash metal back in the '80s at the Record Vault in San Francisco, but today I'd love the opportunity to meet progressive metal's greats: Symphony X, Magnitude 9 etc. Oh, but if this is not an option I'll just be pleased to meet other prog/power metal fans, goths, or/and especially interesting people...can you handle the ambiguity and uncertainty of life? ***NO I DON'T WANT TO VIEW YOUR WEBCAM PORN SITE - PLEASE DON'T SEND ME AN ADD REQEST*********************************href="http://www.mspl inks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vaW1nMTgyLmltYWdlc2hhY2sudXMvbXkucGhwP2l tYWdlPWNkMDNjb3ZlcjMwMHFsNC5qcGc=" target="_blank"

Music:

THE ALBUM, ANUBIS GATE - A PERFECT FOREVERAnubis Gate, Magnitude 9, Symphony X, Helstar, Winter's Bane, Forbidden, Andromeda, Balance of Power, Mystic-Force, Vicious Rumors, Twelfth Gate, Shatter Messiah, Lethal, Superior, Crimson Glory etc. and on and on...I like my metal HEAVY but MELODIC and technical.

Movies:

The Mudge Boy, Amores Perros - two excellent movies, IMO, but I'm really not much of a film buff. Auto Focus. Y Tu Mama Tambien.

Television:

ANDROMEDA'S II=I ALBUM MAY TAKE A WHILE TO FULLY GRASP BUT IT'S CERTAINLY WORTH THE WAIT. A TRUE PROG METAL STANDARD SETTER.

Books:

I try to read/study as much nonfiction as I can. I've been brushing up on my knowledge of history for the last couple of years. I've read Guns, Germs and Steel. Cultures and Conquests. Gulag - in-depth history of the extremities of the Soviet concentration camps. Biographies of Stalin, Trotsky, Sadam Hussein, John Gacy - I must admit I have a penchant for enjoying studying dark personalities: from dictators to serial killers. Previously I had studied psychology and especially enjoyed Crosscultural Psych. I would recommend The Drama Of The Gifted Child, by Alice Miller - an accessible read. Thomas Sowell's Ethnic America was an early influence on my world view and one of the first real books that I read when I was about 20 years-old.

Heroes:

Thomas Sowell: economist, interdisciplinary historian for the Hoover Institute. Lance King: former vocalist for Balance of Power. Russ Anderson - vocalist for FORBIDDEN. Yngwie Malmsteen. Andre Corbin. Torben Askholm. Vocalist Corey Brown, Tom Malicoat. Vocal god Rick Mythiasin.
