About Me

I'm 30, born and raised in Tampa in a latin american home...both my parents are Colombian. I lived in Tampa for 18 years. Then I went to Boston U for year before my life took a big turn; I relocated to Colombia for the next 7 years where I went to medical school. I came back to finish the last year of medical school here at UM/Jackson Memorial Hospital and have been in Miami since then. So for the past three years I have spent my time between Tampa and Miami working and studying part time for my board exams......thankfully I am finally done with those!! Now I am a surgical intern on the Liver Transplant Service (Div of Transplantation / Dept. of Surgery at UM / Jackson Memorial Hospital)......so Im really excited about that!!I work hard and like to party hard......so that being said Im up for just about anything.....I consider myself very diverse as far as my interests and aspects of personality......I live much more COLOMBIAN than American.Love clubbing, bar hopping, wathcing movies, going out to eat, going for coffee, staying in, working out, playing sports, going to museums or art galleries, outdoors activities, wine and spirits, boating, beaching, road trips, exploring....Im down to earth, know how to have a great time and appreciate the finer things in life which more often than not are the little things in life......soy muy detallista......I love my Colombian heritage and am a staunch promoter of it without being overbearing.....I love the fact that miami has such a latin vibe.....and i appreciate and enjoy all the different cultures present in the city.........

My Interests

Music, Clubs, Road trips, Food and Drink, Exploring new places to frequent around the city.

Music:

HOUSE MUSIC - Shapeshifters, Freemasons, Bob Sinclair, Armand Van Helden, Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Eric Morillo, Spiller, Modjo, Phunk Nouveaux, Carl Cox, Ron Carroll, Blue Lagoon, Milky, Moloko, Daft Punk, Junir Senior, Soul du Jour, Benjamin Diamond, Cassius, Stardust, DJ Harvey, Belanova, Pastora, Amigos Invisibles, Carolina Marquez....and many many more artists similar to these. Just ask there are too many to mention. I try to stick to pure house; no techno, no trance, no free-stlye, no break beats - just pure dance music.LATIN MUSIC - (tropical/danceable)- more contemporary stuff but also some traditional artists. Carlos Vives, Bacilos, Gian Marco, Fanny Lu, Erica Ender, Kema, Fonseca, Danilo Parra... these are just a very few of the contemporary artists whose music I love to party to.Reggaeton - pretty much stick to the more melodic, less angry, less demeaning of the songs.... no need to bring the anger to the party. Try some Reggaeton from Colombia and Panama... can't go wrong.Salsa - mostly the old good stuff... Niche, Guayacan, Fania, Latin Brothers, Eddie Santiago, Ruben Blades, EL Gran Combo, Frankie Ruiz, Jerry Rivera.... I don't think the newer solo salsa artists of today quite make the cut.Merengue - I love it... but unfortuately a field with little new life; must stick to the big artists; Juan Luis Guerra, Tono Rosario, Rikarena...it seems like all the efforts of the Domincan artists as a whole are going down the tube by focusing on bachata; what a waste.Vallenato - again mostly the old stuff with some very few exceptions. Vallenato has taken a very lamentable turn towards excessvely romantic lyrics with very poor detestable melodies; much like bachata. What a shame.Latin Rock - I will listen to just about anything (of course Colombian artists are very preferred); however my only comment regarding latin rock is that Soda Stereo, while good, is just way way over-rated and over-played.On the rest of music I do like many other types; classic rock , a little alternative, jazz, blues, r&b, rap, hip-hop, soul, reggae. Just no country.

Movies:

A little bit of everything. But my favorites are the types that make you think and reflect, and that portray the human condition in all its aspects.

Television:

Yes, I watch and can usually find something that will entertain me.
